TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-impression stamping device has been proposed, where the material is a thin polypropylene/aluminium foil/polyethylene combination and a number of vertical punches are moved down to draw the material into the impressions.
Abstract: The stamping device has a multi-impression plate which, when the material is fed in, moves up to a clamping plate so as to grip the material. A number of vertical punches are moved down to draw the material into the impressions. The bottom end of each punch is tapered and is covered with a low-friction material such as PTFE. This enables impressions to be made with a high depth/diameter ratio without splitting. The material punched is a thin polypropylene/aluminium foil/polyethylene combination.

Abstract: The use of part family or group technology methods for machining operations is well established and several manufacturing systems baaed on this approach are in existence, as well as rationalized and automated procedures for design, process planning, etc. It is less well recognized that a similar approach to metal forming operations can lead to substantial benefits also. In this paper the possibilities for extending this approach to bulk metal forming operations (forging, stamping, etc.)are outlined. In particular systematic procedures for component and die design are described based on classification and coding systems for formed parts. In this context, the selection of forging features (draft, allowances, etc.), billet size estimation, and so on are considered. The use of group die sets, with interchangeable inserts, for families of similar parts is outlined. This technique enables die coats to be substantially reduced thus making forming operations more economically viable for small batches of ...

TL;DR: In this paper, a radiant gas burner with an upper elongated refractory body is secured to and supported by an underlying metallic manifold body consisting of a metallic stamping formed of aluminized sheet metal and a vent bar cast of oxidation resistant metal.
Abstract: A radiant gas burner having an upper elongated refractory body is secured to and supported by an underlying metallic manifold body. The manifold body comprises a metallic stamping formed of aluminized sheet metal and a vent bar cast of oxidation resistant metal seated in the stamping beneath the refractory body with a series of burner vents of narrow width formed in said vent bar for discharging the fuel mixture directly against the bottom of a series of transversely extending ceramic vanes in the upper refractory body. The metal stamping has reduced weight, is lower in cost, and is more resistant to oxidation than grey iron castings heretofore used. The preferred metal for the burner vent bar has a superior resistance to the formation of oxidized material which sometimes closed similar burner vents in grey iron castings of the prior art.

TL;DR: In this paper, an approach for separating entrained liquids from a traveling stream of gas or vapor wherein the gas travels through sinuous paths formed by generally vertical vanes of zig-zag cross-sectional configuration arranged in side-by-side relationship and provided with vertically extending channels which collect water droplets impinged upon the surfaces of the vanes.
Abstract: Apparatus for separating entrained liquids from a traveling stream of gas or vapor wherein the gas travels through sinuous paths formed by generally vertical vanes of zig-zag cross-sectional configuration arranged in side-by-side relationship and provided with vertically extending channels which collect water droplets impinged upon the surfaces of the vanes as the gas travels therethrough. The invention is characterized in that each vane, including the collecting channel therefor, is fabricated from a single sheet of metal formed as by stamping, bending or roll forming into the desired cross-sectional configuration. This reduces the cost of the product and eliminates tolerance problems encountered when an attempt is made to obtain the desired cross-sectional configuration by welding.
