TL;DR: In this article, the blanks are laser welded together utilizing a powdered metal filler so as to produce a weld seam which is convex, and a portion of the seam is removed to produce flush weld seam between the blank edges.
Abstract: In a method for preparing a welded metal panel having a high surface quality a first metal blank and a second metal blank are disposed so that edge portions of the blanks are in an abutting relationship. The blanks are laser welded together utilizing a powdered metal filler so as to produce a weld seam which is convex. A portion of the seam is removed to produce a flush weld seam between the blanks. The hardness of the weld seam is determined, and if the hardness of the weld seam is more than the hardness of the remainder of the panel, the weld seam is tempered so as to reduce its hardness. The thus produced welded metal panel may be subjected to a further shaping operation such as stamping, bending or the like. After shaping, the article may be plated, painted or otherwise finished.

TL;DR: A windshield wiper drive link is pivoted indirectly to a crank arm through an intermediate toggle member and a pair of oppositely directed beams cut into the side walls of the drive link stamping as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A windshield wiper drive link is pivoted indirectly to a crank arm through an intermediate toggle member and a pair of oppositely directed beams cut into the side walls of the drive link stamping. Under excess load, one or the other of the beams will buckle in compression, allowing the drive link to in effect change length, thereby yielding to avoid overload.

TL;DR: In this paper, a noise-cut filter with distributed inductances and distributed capacitances is provided wherein conductive spiral coil patterns are formed on opposite surfaces of a dielectric sheet, such that the spiral coils are aligned with each other in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the dielectrical sheet.
Abstract: A noise-cut filter having distributed inductances and distributed capacitances is provided wherein conductive spiral coil patterns are formed on the opposite surfaces of a dielectric sheet, such that the spiral coil patterns are aligned with each other in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the dielectric sheet, and a main circuit pattern is constructed by bonding a main circuit conductor to the spiral coil pattern formed on one of the opposite surfaces of the dielectric sheet The main circuit conductor is formed by stamping with a punch press so that the conductor has a cross sectional area large enough to allow the passage of current of a main circuit, and has substantially the same shape as the spiral coil pattern Further, a grounding wire is bonded to the spiral coil pattern formed on the other surface of the dielectric sheet, so that the grounding wire leads the current involving noises which flows from the main circuit pattern into the spiral coil pattern via the dielectric sheet, to a ground terminal

TL;DR: In this article, a method of forming a sheet of e.g. metal includes the step of providing a plurality of elongate slots (13) longitudinally of fold lines (14) so that, when portions (17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22) are bent out of the plane of the lamina (11) stamped from the sheet (10), the force necessary to bend bridge portions (15) separating adjacent slots(13) is less than would be required to bend the material of the Laminata if the slots were not present.

The apertures may be stamped out simultaneously with stamping the sheet from stock.

TL;DR: In this paper, a progressive stamping strip for electrical parts is provided with a spaced away wire safety crimp, which is used to automatically crimp leads to both the electrical part and the wire safety.
Abstract: A progressive stamping strip for electrical parts is provided with a spaced away wire safety crimp. The stamping strip may be used to automatically crimp leads to both the electrical part and the wire safety crimp. The wire safety crimp is severed from the stamping strip separate from the electrical part. The wire safety crimp retains the wires together and retains them in the plug. The present invention provides an electrical part with a wire safety crimped on a lead, as well as a molded plug with the wires protected against exposure from the plug.
