TL;DR: In this paper, a method for manufacturing an exposed portion of a vehicle interior having a real wood appearance is presented, where a desired wood finish is first applied to a selected surface of a sheet of wood veneer.
Abstract: A method manufacturing an exposed portion of a vehicle interior having a real wood appearance is shown. A desired wood finish is first applied to a selected surface of a sheet of wood veneer. A laminate backing is then applied to the wood veneer surface opposite the finished surface, the laminate backing comprises a peel-off adhesive backing. An overlay is then formed of the vehicle interior portion in a desired shape by stamping the laminated wood veneer with a steel rule die, the steel rule die being patterned in the desired shape. The adhesive backing is then peeled from the overlay and the backing surface of the wood veneer is then applied to a selected location within the vehicle interior so that the finished surface of the wood veneer is exposed.

TL;DR: In this article, a machine for machining metal sheets is described, which comprises a bending machine for bending sides of a metal sheet and a manipulator-rotator that is mobile in relation to the bending machine.
Abstract: There is described a machine for machining metal sheets, which comprises a bending machine (1) for bending sides of a metal sheet (50) and a manipulator-rotator (3) that is mobile in relation to the bending machine (1) for automatic positioning of the metal sheet (50) during bending. The machine comprises at least one punching press (21, 30) for punching said metal sheet (50), that is served by said manipulator-rotator (3) so that said manipulator-rotator (3) is utilised for automatic positioning of the metal sheet (50) both during bending and during punching of the metal sheet (50).

TL;DR: In this article, a method of forming sheet metal is characterized by superimposing the sheet metal over a die and directing against the exposed surface of sheet metal detonation waves produced by igniting a detonatable mixture of a fluid fuel and an oxidizing gas within an elongated container having an open end.
Abstract: 742,460. Stamping. UNION CARBIDE & CARBON CORPORATION. June 11, 1952, No. 17036/54. Divided out of 742,387, [Group II]. Class 83 (4). A method of forming sheet metal is characterized by superimposing the sheet metal over a die and directing against the exposed surface of the sheet metal detonation waves produced by igniting a detonatable mixture of a fluid fuel and an oxidizing gas within an elongated container having an open end. A combustible gas, e.g. acetylene, hydrogen, propane, butane, pentane or ethylene is supplied through a pipe 10 and an oxidizing gas, e.g. air is supplied through a pipe 11 to a mixing chamber 12 from where the gaseous charge passes into an ignition chamber 14 provided with a spark plug 15 which is fired by a coil 17, a battery 18 and a cam-operated switch 19 regulated by a variable-speed motor 20. Firing of the plug ignites the charge and a detonation wave travels through a water or air cooled barrel 16 and out its open end. A back-fire arrester may be inserted in the fuel supply line. Liquid fuels such as gasoline may be vaporized and used and also solid fuels such as coal powder suspended as dusts in a gas. The sheet metal may be cooled by air blast, liquid spray or fog. An electrically heated filament or injected hot powder particles may be used instead of the spark plug.

TL;DR: In this paper, a short review on some recent developments regarding steels for automotive use is presented, where a new precoated steel suitable for hot stamping processing is developed, which is most appropriate for producing anti-intrusion parts.
Abstract: This paper is a short review on some recent developments regarding steels for automotive use. A new precoated steel suitable for to hot stamping processing has been developed, which is most appropriate for producing anti-intrusion parts. Another evolution of precoated steels is a new inorganic treatment (NIT), which has proved to be efficient in increasing the stamping productivity of precoated steels. In the field of corrosion protection, a new generation of thin organic coatings has been implemented and in the future Zn-Mg metallic coatings will help to save auxiliary anticorrosion measures such as wax and mastics. To offer steels with high stiffness but low weight, Arcelor has developed a new multimaterial sandwich which shows a good potential for large panels due to its high stiffness. Finally, some breakthrough steel products are discussed as possible candidates for mid/long term applications.
