TL;DR: In this article, a debugging apparatus is disclosed which verifies a program to be embedded into a target machine by running the program in an environment which is one or the target machine, an emulator, and a simulator.
Abstract: A debugging apparatus is disclosed which verifies a program to be embedded into a target machine by running the program in an environment which is one or the target machine, an emulator, and a simulator. Each environment includes operation state information of the program and inputs and outputs the operation state information in a form unique to the environment. The debugging apparatus includes; target environment storing unit for storing an identification name of the target environment; receiving unit for receiving a command from an operator; instruction detecting unit for detecting a certain instruction in the command; specifying unit for, when the certain instruction is detected, specifying a target environment specified by the identification name as a source target environment and for specifying any of the rest of the environments as a destination target environment; reading unit for reading operation state information from the source target environment; converting unit for converting the operation state information into operation state information written in a form unique to the destination target environment; setting unit for setting the converted operation state information in the destination target environment; and operation resuming unit for resuming the operation of the program in the destination target environment.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system featuring one or more processors and memory that includes monitoring logic is described, which is configured to monitor for and detect a notification message that is directed to a destination other than the monitoring logic and identify an event associated with a change in state of a data store associated with the file system.
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system featuring one or more processors and memory that includes monitoring logic. During operation, the monitoring logic is configured to monitor for and detect a notification message that is directed to a destination other than the monitoring logic and identify an event associated with a change in state of a data store associated with the file system to occur. The notification message, at least in part, triggers a malware analysis to be conducted on an object associated with the state change event.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and system for busy presence state detection in an instant messenger system is presented, which can detect a computer system activity level, determining whether the activity level exceeds an activity threshold, and transitioning a presence state of an instant message system to a busy state in response to determining that the level of activity exceeds the activity threshold.
Abstract: A method and system for busy presence state detection in an instant messenger system. The method may include detecting a computer system activity level, determining whether the activity level exceeds an activity threshold, and transitioning a presence state of an instant messenger to a busy state in response to determining that the activity level exceeds the activity threshold, where the presence state corresponds to a given user. The system may include a computer system and an instant messenger software module configured to execute on the computer system. The instant messenger software module may be further configured to detect a computer system activity level, determine whether the activity level exceeds an activity threshold, and transition a presence state of the instant messenger software module to a busy state in response to the determination that the activity level exceeds the activity threshold, where the presence state corresponds to a given user.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a context switching system for saving, restoring or swapping tasks, which is adapted for use in a multitasking processor coupled to an external or system memory.
Abstract: A context switching system for saving, restoring or swapping tasks, and is adapted for use in a multitasking processor coupled to an external or system memory. The processor includes one or more functional blocks to perform the tasks. The functional blocks comprise registers that store state data that, at a particular instant, represents the context of the system. The system comprises a controller that receives a save or switch command and generates a context save instruction in response thereto. The controller is configured to pass the context save instruction to the functional blocks. The functional blocks generate a state program. The state program comprises one or more register load instructions and the state data representing the context of the system so that context can be restored at a later time. The state program is stored in an external or system memory. Saving context as state programs permits the system to quickly switch from one context to another without losing important information.

TL;DR: In this article, a power supply for use in a computer system according to this invention has a one-chip microcomputer having a built-in A/D converter, which has a communication function.
Abstract: A power supply for use in a computer system according to this invention has a one-chip microcomputer having a built-in A/D converter. The microcomputer, which has a communication function, performs a power off sequence for a computer system and a power off sequence for a hard disk drive built in the computer system, while communicating with the computer system. Further, the microcomputer detects the voltage and current of a chargeable battery, discriminates a low battery state, monitors a power switch, a hard disk drive switch and a reset switch, and monitors an input/output voltage.
