Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To provide an energy management system for managing energy such as electric power consumed in a building in an optimal state while significantly saving energy. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A computer control system (200) for controlling an energy management system performs program control as follows. A current date and time are acquired and a control pattern for the time is obtained from a control program so as to judge whether operation of an air conditioner (186) is to be turned ON or OFF and whether to output an operation instruction or a stop instruction. A control signal is outputted from a digital output device (212) to the air conditioner (186). Thus, the air conditioner (186) temporarily stops operation according to the pattern decided in the program control. The current operation state is displayed on a display device (240) and a remote control device (270).

TL;DR: A software-implemented tool for monitoring CPU power usage in a personal computer system, especially well-suited for use in battery-powered computers running a Windows® operating system, includes a virtual device driver for causing the computer system's processor to enter a low-power state when software running on a computer system is idle as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A software-implemented tool for monitoring CPU power usage in a personal computer system, especially well-suited for use in battery-powered computers running a Windows® operating system, includes a virtual device driver for causing the computer system's processor to enter a low-power state when software running on the computer system is idle. A monitor routine is in communication with the virtual device driver for gathering and storing information relating to a condition of the computer system while the processor is in its low-power state. A user interface routine is also provided to facilitate displaying this information to a system user.

TL;DR: In this article, a digital computer monitoring and restart circuit monitors the presence of periodic output signals from the digital computer by a missing pulse detector, and when the detector senses a missing output signal from the computer, it indicates this detection operation by an output signal representation of the fact that the computer is not operating.
Abstract: Case 04-4071-U.S. APPLICATION OF JAMES A. HOGAN AND MORTON SKLAROFF DIGITAL COMPUTER MONITORING AND RESTART CIRCUIT ABSTRACT A digital computer monitoring and restart circuit monitors the presence of periodic output signals from the digital computer by a missing pulse detector. When the detector senses a missing output signal from the computer, it indicates this detection operation by an output signal representation of the fact that the computer is not operat-ing. In response to this output signal a restart pulse is generated by a restart pulse generator and is applied to the computer to restart the computer and to reset the monitoring circuit Concurrently, a five-second timer circuit is started. While the timer circuit is operating over its five-second interval, if the monitoring circuit produces another output signal indicating that the computer is not operating, the five-second timer is stopped and an-other restart operation is not attempted. If the five-second timer is allowed to run to the end of the five-second interval without the detection of a computer outage, the monitoring and restart circuit is reset by the five-second timer to an initial state indicative of the continu-ing operation of the computer while awaiting a subsequent computer outage.

TL;DR: In this paper, the dependency graph is supplied to a state machine, which performs operations to drive the target node toward its goal, using the current state of a target node, the desired state and the dependency graphs.
Abstract: Configuring a node. A method includes determining a current state of a target node. The current state of the target node refers to objects currently deployed or running in the remote target node. It includes at least one of an operating system, one or more applications, or configuration setting at the target node. The method further includes determining a desired state for the target node to change the current state. The method further includes accessing a dependency graph based on the version of an agent running on the target node. The dependency graph is supplied to a state machine. The state machine is particular to the target node. The state machine using the current state of the target node, the desired state and the dependency graph, performs operations to drive the target node toward its goal.
