Abstract: Robots with straight-line output have many advantages over others, especially in case of precision-grasping and dealing with small or thick objects. This paper develops a novel linear-parallel robotic hand, which can perform linear-parallel pinching grasp via a relatively simple structure. The hand consists of 2 fingers and 4 degrees of freedom (DOFs). The working principle of the straight-line motion is based on a straight-line mechanism. Both kinematics and mathematic analysis are performed to give more details about the design. Grasping experimental results show the grasping stability and the versatility of the hand. Furthermore, the motion properties of the linear output as well as how the parameters of the bars influence the shape of the guides were analyzed. The results of the analysis indicate the proposed mechanism has relatively stable output speed. Finally, the prototype of the hand was manufactured and experiments are conducted to verify the design. The hand has much potential in industrial application.

Abstract: In the cycloidal gear, the torque is transmitted to the planet gears via an eccentric shaft with central bearings mounted on it. A straight-line mechanism is used to output the torque from the planet gears to the output shaft, a mechanism which consists of rotational sleeves mounted on the pins rigidly connected to the output shaft disc. These sleeves roll off in the holes of the planetary wheel. The forces generated in the straight-line mechanism affect the distribution of forces in the cycloid gearing and the amount of force loading the central bearing. The article presents the influence of the number of bolts of the straight-line mechanism on the load distribution in the cycloidal gear. The research carried out with the simulation program has shown that the smaller the number of pins, the greater the fluctuation of the force acting in the central bearing and the greater unevenness of force distributions in the cycloidal gear. This unevenness may cause a decrease in fatigue life of the meshing and central bearings.

Abstract: This paper gives the preliminary analysis based on the Peaucellier inversion instrument, and calculates the inverse apparatus according to the theory of inversion, a straight mechanism based on the Peaucellier inversion is designed and calculate the maximum circle radius of inversion instrument. Then instrument could switch between the straight line and circle by improving the straight line organization of inversion instrument. An assembly of straight-line mechanism is drew. The prototype is built, and the validity of the mechanism is verified by experiments.
