Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and method for inspecting and managing a security light or a street light are provided to transmit information about the position of the defective security light or street light to the smart phone of a manager, thereby easily inspecting the security light or the street light. CONSTITUTION: A system for inspecting and managing a security light or a street light includes a repeater (130), a management server (110), and the smart phone (120) of a manager. The repeater automatically detects the inspection condition of at least one of the security light or the street light. The repeater transmits inspection data outside through a key communications network. The repeater requires the management server for condition inspection. The management server receives a civil appeal about defects through the transmission of information about the position of the smart phone of a civil petitioner. The smart phone of the manager informs the management server or the smart phone of the civil petitioner of the completion of the inspection. Abstract: The proposed remote-control system can optimize management and efficiency of street lighting systems. Here mainly use ZigBee-based wireless devices to transfer the information from point to point. ZigBee transmitters and receivers are used send the message to the control terminal to check the status of the street lamps. A remote monitoring allows the quick detection of failing devices without needing long searches and wasting personal time and then take appropriate measures to overcome the failure and then all lamps are hierarchically controlled.

TL;DR: In this paper, the possibility to use the power line as a communication bus will make is possible to control and dim the luminaries to save energy and when introduced in a larger scale will also improve the ITS implementation as well as increase the road safety and not at least minimize the maintenance costs for the street light system.
Abstract: The street lighting had since its start in the late 1900-century been an undeveloped area when it comes to implementation of new technologies. The drives in the late decade have been mainly influenced by the introduction of new light sources (lamps). New technologies well known to households such as dimming device, timers and low energy lamps have not entered the street lighting business until quite recently. The possibility to use the power line as a communication bus will make is possible to control and dim the luminaries to save energy. When introduced in a larger scale will also improve the ITS implementation as well as increase the road safety and not at least minimize the maintenance costs for the street light system.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a road street lamp control system and a control method thereof. According to the present invention, a plurality of street lamps arranged along a road are grouped by predetermined numbers, a street lamp arranged in the forwardmost for each group of street lamps in a vehicle driving direction is set as a main street lamp, the remaining street lamps are set as an auxiliary street lamp, and only the main street lamp provided for each group of the street lamps is all turned on at night. In addition, the main street lamp includes a moving object sensor and a wireless communication module, and a moving vehicle is sensed by the moving object sensor to all turn on the main street lamp and the auxiliary street lamp of groups of the street lamps arranged in a section where a vehicle moves. Also, the auxiliary street lamp of the group of the street lamps arranged in a section through which the vehicle has already passed, is turned off again by the linkage control between groups of the street lamps through the wireless communication module, such that the auxiliary street lamp for each group of the street lamps can be rapidly controlled without a standby time. Accordingly, unnecessary power waste can be reduced, thereby promoting the low power driving of street lamps. Furthermore, when an abnormal situation occurs in a vehicle sensing process, peripheral street lamps of a street lamp that an abnormal situation occurs are all turned on through the linkage control between the groups of the street lamps so as to provide a notification for a situation room which monitors a corresponding road, thereby rapidly dealing with the abnormal situation.
