TL;DR: The proposed novel intelligent street light management system with surveillance count and record the number of vehicles crossing the road along with date and time records and if there is any accident happens on the road the recorded information automatically sent to the monitoring system.
Abstract: The proposed intelligent street light management system with surveillance optimizes management efficiency of street lighting. Usually street lights are in ON condition for twelve hours per day. Sensors are used to reduce the power consumption also wireless controlling and monitoring system. Street lights can be wirelessly monitored and control with the help of the ZigBee wireless transceiver. The transceiver collects and monitors the total data of particular lamp. Whenever vehicle crosses, the intelligent street light management system, surveillance camera and the street light are switched on and image is captured using surveillance camera. The proposed novel intelligent street light management system with surveillance count and record the number of vehicles crossing the road along with date and time records. If there is any accident happens on the road the recorded information automatically sent to the monitoring system using Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and ZigBee.

TL;DR: A framework of the 30m separation distance between street light poles, 9m height, light control system, 90W LED lamp, 5.4kWh volume of rechargeable battery, and 2 square feet of solar panel is proposed for producing a modern design of SSL.
Abstract: This research paper is to explain a proposed Solar Street Light (SSL) design towards energy efficiency development for managing facility planning. Street lighting is an indispensable public service that provides a safer environment at night time to commuters as well as pedestrians. However, the Conventional Street Light (CSL) is not without some challenges, such as high energy consumption and cases of electrocution. Therefore, in light of the problems, this research is aimed at developing a new framework for producing a modern design of SSL. Some of the significant technical requirements and procedures for the development were discussed, which is comprised of LED street lamp chip, lamppost, solar panel, battery and controller. Also, a detailed comparison between the two types of street lighting was explored in the study - that SSL has the potentials of saving 64.7% of total cost compared to CSL. Some of the significant benefits of SSL are self-generation of power, which save energy thereby controlling issues related to environmental pollution. One of the uniqueness of SSL is its DC 12V working voltage, stability as well as human safety, as there are zero electrocution possibilities. This study thus proposed a framework of the 30m separation distance between street light poles, 9m height, light control system, 90W LED lamp, 5.4kWh volume of rechargeable battery, and 2 square feet of solar panel.

TL;DR: An automated system refers to Smart Street Lighting System that adapts to movement by pedestrians, cyclists and cars that would save a large amount of electricity that could be used for other constructive work.
Abstract: In the present day scenario a significant portion of electricity produced is consumed by street lights. With the increasing demand for non-conventional energy resources, the conservation of energy is an important domain in current research. The various existing street light systems all around the world use old technology, therefore are not optimized, inefficient and hence consume more power. On account of this, we often find street lights switched ON even when there is no vehicular or pedestrian movement on the roads. Due to the advancement in technology, automated systems are being preferred over manual systems. Considering this, our automated system refers to Smart Street Lighting System that adapts to movement by pedestrians, cyclists and cars. This in turn would save a large amount of electricity that could be used for other constructive work.

TL;DR: An energy efficient streetlight supervising and control system that can monitor and control streetlight more efficiently and can provide a safe night time environment for all road users including pedestrians is proposed.
Abstract: In this proposal, we propose an energy efficient streetlight supervising and control system that can monitor and control streetlight more efficiently and can provide a safe night time environment for all road users including pedestrians. The proposed system uses the ZigBee-based wireless devices which allow more efficient lamp management. It also discusses an intelligent system that takes automatic decisions for ON/OFF/DIMMING considering movement of vehicles or pedestrians and also surrounding light intensity.
