Abstract: This research project investigates LED street lights as a tool for sustainable development in SA£o Jose dos Campos, Brazil. The project explores the energy and maintenance impacts of using LED in the place of conventional street lights by assessing the LED street light retrofit projects of eighteen case study cities. These case studies are also analyzed for the secondary impacts of LED street lights resulting from a new light source. Using an example LED street light (Lumi R-Series), projections are made for SA£o Jose dos Campos on the potential energy and maintenance effects of LED street lights compared to the existing street light network. The final part of the research addresses the local municipal government' s interest of how to implement a street light retrofit project in SA£o Jose dos Campos while stimulating economic development through the creation of a local LED lighting company. The results show that energy and maintenance expenditures were significantly reduced in each of the eighteen case studies as a result of implementing LEDs. Data also indicated that some secondary benefits were caused by the use of these street lights including reduced criminality, increased road safety, positive public perception and reduced light pollution. The projections for SA£o Jose dos Campos suggest an energy savings of at least seventy percent and a payback period of just over ten years. Finally, a project implementation strategy, via a build-operate-transfer public-private partnership, is suggested to the city of SA£o Jose dos Campos as the most feasible method to achieve the city' s development goals and overcome the challenges of such a significant infrastructure improvement project.

Abstract: An imperative piece of equipment that is vital to a community is a Street Light. It will provide illumination and safety for the people of the community. However, most of the street lights are powered by the local electric company and are somehow not possible for remote locations. The Solar powered street light is an agreeable solution for the problem. The primary concern of the project is to design and construct a solar- powered street lamp that will be used in Sapang Patay, San Isidro II, Paombong, Bulacan, a remote location of mostly fishponds. The project aims to illuminate the streets of Sapang Patay through the installation of solar powered street light and provide its residents a sense of being safe throughout the night. An experiment and constant monitoring was conducted to check if the solar panel is charging. The result of the project has a positive response from the community of Sapang Patay. They now enjoy the street light and can now freely walk at night without any worries. The solar powered street lamp is a self- sustaining device. The device provides a reliable and enhanced alternative to a current street lighting system.

Abstract: There are millions of streetlights to provide proper illumination during night time each street light has a life span and apart from that there is physical damage, damage due to wind, accidents etc. these days there is a process that the public launches a complaint about any failure or the government officials have periodic maintenance in the evening and note down the issue in the particular pole and then get it rectified on the upcoming day event . getting information about every street light daily basis is very tedious .To solve the delay of identifying and rectifying the units we are make a mesh kind of network with Wi-Fi module .each light pole will have ESP8266 with in each will act as server and client all of the street lamp will communicate with each other and confirm their presence or activeness first

Abstract: Design of smart street light system using PIR and arduino is proposed. The system is smart enough to detect the person presence and turn on the light as per the object detect. Energy consumption is increases day by day which result increase the power generation. Most of the time street light is on for longer period with no use. To reduce the power consumption and knowing the log detatils of street light by use of Internet Of thing is studied. The microcontroller with sensor modules and Esp8266 are used for the hardware part.
