TL;DR: In this article, a speech recognition system capable of recognizing a word or a plurality of words based on a continuous spelling of the word(s) by a user is presented, which includes a decoder running in forward mode such that the recognition engine continuously outputs an updated string of hypothesized letters based on the letters uttered by the user.
Abstract: A speech recognition system capable of recognizing a word or a plurality of words based on a continuous spelling of the word(s) by a user. The system includes a speech recognition engine with a decoder running in forward mode such that the recognition engine continuously outputs an updated string of hypothesized letters based on the letters uttered by the user. The system further includes a spelling engine for comparing each string of hypothesized letters to a vocabulary list of words. The spelling engine returns a best match for the string of hypothesized letters. The system may also include an early identification unit for presenting the user with the best matching word(s) possibly before the user has completed spelling the desired word(s).

TL;DR: An integrated technique for simultaneous reaction path and exact transition state search is described by implementing an eigenvector following optimization algorithm in internal coordinates with Hessian update techniques.
Abstract: The growing string method (GSM) is highly useful for locating reaction paths connecting two molecular intermediates. GSM has often been used in a two-step procedure to locate exact transition states (TS), where GSM creates a quality initial structure for a local TS search. This procedure and others like it, however, do not always converge to the desired transition state because the local search is sensitive to the quality of the initial guess. This article describes an integrated technique for simultaneous reaction path and exact transition state search. This is achieved by implementing an eigenvector following optimization algorithm in internal coordinates with Hessian update techniques. After partial convergence of the string, an exact saddle point search begins under the constraint that the maximized eigenmode of the TS node Hessian has significant overlap with the string tangent near the TS. Subsequent optimization maintains connectivity of the string to the TS as well as locks in the TS direction, al...

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for outputting a synthesized speech signal corresponding to an orthographic string stored in a media file comprising audio data, comprising the steps of analyzing the audio data to determine at least one candidate for a language of the orthographical string, estimating a phonetic representation of the phonetic string based on the determined candidates, and synthesizing a speech signal based on estimated phonetic representations.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for outputting a synthesized speech signal corresponding to an orthographic string stored in a media file comprising audio data, comprising the steps of analyzing the audio data to determine at least one candidate for a language of the orthographic string, estimating a phonetic representation of the orthographic string based on the determined at least one candidate for a language and synthesizing a speech signal based on the estimated phonetic representation of the orthographic string. The invention also relates to a media player incorporating such a method for a estimating phonetic representation for song and album titles as well as artists' names for speech recognition. Furthermore, the invention relates to the choice of an appropriate speech recognizer for automatically transcribing the lyrics of songs by using audio-based language estimates.

TL;DR: Stranger can automatically prove that an application is free from specified attacks or generate vulnerability signatures that characterize all malicious inputs that can be used to generate attacks.
Abstract: Stranger is an automata-based string analysis tool for finding and eliminating string-related security vulnerabilities in PHP applications. Stranger uses symbolic forward and backward reachability analyses to compute the possible values that the string expressions can take during program execution. Stranger can automatically (1) prove that an application is free from specified attacks or (2) generate vulnerability signatures that characterize all malicious inputs that can be used to generate attacks.
