TL;DR: In this paper, a broadband plate antenna with a ground conductor and a radiating element separated from the ground conductor is described, which includes an impedance matching stub ( 404 ) electrically coupled to the radiating elements.
Abstract: A broadband plate antenna ( 402 ) is disclosed, which includes a ground conductor ( 407 ) and a radiating element ( 406 ) which is separated from the ground conductor ( 407 ). The antenna also includes an impedance matching stub ( 404 ) electrically coupled to the radiating element ( 406 ), and means for feeding the radiating element ( 406 ), wherein the means for feeding includes a feed point ( 410 ) disposed on the impedance matching stub ( 404 ).

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel aperture-coupled circularly polarized microstrip antenna with a three-stub hybrid coupler feed circuit was proposed to generate broadband circular polarization radiation.
Abstract: A novel aperture-coupled circularly polarized microstrip antenna with a three-stub hybrid coupler feed circuit in order to generate broadband circular polarization radiation is proposed. The bandwidth is 32.3% for 2:1 VSWR and 42.6% for 3-dB axial ratio. The achievable maximum gain is 8.8 dBic. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. TL;DR: Three compact printed quasi-Yagi antennas are designed with the same antenna prototype but different parameter values, which have good unidirectional radiations, high radiation efficiencies, and low cross-polarization levels at the operating frequencies within the impedance bandwidths.
Abstract: Double dipoles on a single-layer substrate are utilized to construct a triple-mode printed quasi-Yagi antenna for the multi-band and broadband antenna applications. A stub-loaded dipole generating two resonant modes (i.e., lower dual-mode dipole) is allocated on the underside of a simple dipole (i.e., upper single-mode dipole) introducing the third resonant mode. Using these three resonant modes, three compact printed quasi-Yagi antennas, i.e., tri-band, dual-band, and broadband printed quasi-Yagi antennas, are designed with the same antenna prototype but different parameter values. Seen from the measured results, all of these three antennas have good unidirectional radiations, high radiation efficiencies, and low cross-polarization levels at the operating frequencies within the impedance bandwidths.

TL;DR: In this article, a compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultrawideband (UWB) slot antenna for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO)/diversity applications is presented.
Abstract: A compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultrawideband (UWB) slot antenna for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO)/diversity applications is presented in this letter. The antenna consists of two coplanar waveguides (CPWs) feeding circular radiating elements and a protruded stub, which is placed at between them. The circular radiating elements are arrange orthogonally and fed perpendicularly to obtain polarization diversity. Notched band at X-band communication downlinks is achieved by etching split ring resonator slots in the radiators and the other notched band at WLAN system is achieved by the collaboration of arc-shaped strips and the protruded stub. The protruded stub not only can help to achieve band rejection but also can reduce mutual coupling between two ports. As all of the structures are printed in one layer, it can be very easily to be integrated with RF front-end circuits. Simulated and measured results show that the proposed antenna meets the 10-dB impedance bandwidth from 3.4 to 12 GHz and isolation better than 15 dB at most of the band. Good diversity performance in terms of envelope correlation coefficient and the ratio of mean effective gain demonstrates that the antenna is quite suitable for MIMO UWB applications. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
