TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated half-supersymmetric domain wall solutions of three maximally supersymmetric D = 9 massive supergravity theories obtained by Scherk-Schwarz reduction of D = 10 IIB supergravity.
Abstract: We investigate half-supersymmetric domain wall solutions of three maximally supersymmetric D = 9 massive supergravity theories obtained by Scherk-Schwarz reduction of D = 10 IIB supergravity. The three theories have su- perpotentials leading to half-supersymmetric domain wall solutions, one of which has zero potential but non-zero superpotential.

TL;DR: In this paper, the superpotential of low energy M theory compactified to four dimensions is investigated and some speculative remarks concerning higher derivative corrections and supersymmetry breaking are made.
Abstract: Various aspects of low energy M theory compactified to four dimensions are considered. If the supersymmetry parameter is parallel in the unwarped metric, then supersymmetry requires that the warp factor is trivial, the background four-form field strength is zero and that the internal 7-manifold has $G_2$ holonomy (we assume the absence of boundaries and other impurities). A proposal of Gukov - extended here to include M2-brane domain walls - for the superpotential of the compactified theory is shown to yield the same result. Finally, we make some speculative remarks concerning higher derivative corrections and supersymmetry breaking.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide type IIB string embeddings of two axion variants of natural inflation, and use a combination of RR 2 form axions as the inflaton field and have its potential generated by non perturbative effects in the superpotential.
Abstract: We provide type IIB string embeddings of two axion variants of natural inflation. We use a combination of RR 2 form axions as the inflaton field and have its potential generated by non perturbative effects in the superpotential. Besides giving rise to inflation, the models developed take into account the stabilization of the compact space, both in the KKLT and large volume scenario regimes, an essential condition for any semi-realistic model of string inflation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied three-dimensional supersymmetric Chern-Simons-Matter theories on the direct product of a circle and a two-dimensional hemisphere with specified boundary conditions by the method of localization.
Abstract: We study three dimensional $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric Chern-Simons-Matter theories on the direct product of a circle and a two dimensional hemisphere ($S^1 \times D^2$) with specified boundary conditions by the method of localization. We construct boundary interactions to cancel the supersymmetric variation of the three dimensional superpotential term and the Chern-Simons term and show inflows of the bulk-boundary anomalies. It finds that the boundary conditions induce two dimensional $\mathcal{N}=(0,2)$ type supersymmetry on the boundary torus. We also study the relation between the 3d-2d coupled partition function of our model and three dimensional holomorphic blocks.
