TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the space-time superpotential, which is known to receive no string theoretic corrections in finite orders in α′, is modified by world-sheet instantons.

TL;DR: In this article, the dynamics of a large class of N = 1 quiver theories, geometrically realized by type IIB D-brane probes wrapping cycles of local Calabi-Yau three-folds, are studied.

TL;DR: It is established that in a large class of strongly coupled (3+1)-dimensional N=1 quiver conformal field theories with gravity duals, adding a chemical potential for the R charge leads to the existence of superfluid states in which a chiral primary operator of the schematic form O=lambdalambda+W condenses.
Abstract: We establish that in a large class of strongly coupled (3+1)-dimensional N=1 quiver conformal field theories with gravity duals, adding a chemical potential for the R charge leads to the existence of superfluid states in which a chiral primary operator of the schematic form O=lambdalambda+W condenses. Here lambda is a gluino and W is the superpotential. Our argument is based on the construction of a consistent truncation of type IIB supergravity that includes a U(1) gauge field and a complex scalar.

TL;DR: The ADE classification of modular invariants arises as the classification of projective descriptions of P 1; in general, the hierarchy of fixed points is conjectured to be isomorphic to classification of quasihomogeneous singularities.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss N = 2 supersymmetric gauge theories in four dimensions and derive several non-renormalization theorems, including a simple proof that the perturbative beta function is given by the one-loop result and clarify the use of the multiplet of anomalies.
