TL;DR: In this article, a thermal mass-flow meter and a mass flow controller using the mass flow meter are disclosed, which includes a base having an installation surface, a passage for fluid, and a bypass in the middle of the passage.
Abstract: A thermal mass-flow meter and mass-flow controller using the mass-flow meter are disclosed. The mass flow meter includes a base having an installation surface, a passage for fluid, and a bypass in the middle of the passage. The mass-flow meter also includes a case in contact with the installation surface of the base and housing a sensor tube and sensor wires. The mass flow sensor also includes a sensor circuit including a bridge circuit including the sensor wires and other resistive elements. A heat-transfer block is positioned adjacent to the case and in contact with the installation surface of the base. A bottom surface of the heat-transfer block and the installation surface of the base are in surface contact with each other, and at least one lateral surface of said heat-transfer block and a lateral surface of said case are in surface contact with each other.

TL;DR: In this paper, a Coriolis flowmeter is used to measure mass flow, density or viscosity for a fluid flowing in a pipe, which is proportional to a flow physical variable.
Abstract: Method for measuring a fluid flow physical variable, especially the mass flow, density or viscosity, for a fluid flowing in a pipe. Method uses a Coriolis flowmeter and has the following steps: generation of a helical flow relative to the flow axis at the inlet to the flowmeter; excitation of the fluid in the flowmeter measurement pipe; and measurement of the reaction to the excitation to generate a measurement signal that is proportional to a flow physical variable. The invention also relates to a corresponding measurement sensor and a measurement instrument. Said measurement sensor has an eddy generator at the inlet to the measurement pipe for generation of helical flow.

TL;DR: In this paper, a full scale mass flow controller was proposed to provide a constant mass flow rate to a downstream column system of a gas chromatograph, which includes an inlet port connected to a sample inlet, an outlet port connected with the downstream column, and a pressure sensing port in fluid communication with the outlet port and the mass flow controllers.
Abstract: A device for providing a constant mass flow rate to a downstream column system of a gas chromatograph includes a small full scale mass flow controller that controls carrier gas to flow at a first mass flow rate and a flow resistance element, including an inlet port connected to a sample inlet, an outlet port connected to the downstream column system, and a pressure sensing port in fluid communication with the outlet port and the mass flow controller. A sample inlet pressure controller controls the sample inlet at a first pressure, and a pressure sensor measures a second pressure of the carrier gas at the pressure sensing port. A set point of the first pressure is determined as a function of the second pressure, flow resistance of the flow resistance element, and a second mass flow rate from the inlet port to the outlet port of the flow resistance element.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a fluid flow meter that generates pulses proportional to the flow therethrough, both at high flow rates and low flow rates, the meter being at least temporarily in fluid connection with a further means for determining the actual flow rate through the flow meter, whereby the time between pulses can be calculated and a graph of time between pulse versus volume per pulse can be generated for each specific meter.
Abstract: The present invention provides a fluid flow meter that generates pulses proportional to the flow therethrough, both at high flow rates and low flow rates, the meter being at least temporarily in fluid connection with a further means for determining the actual flow rate through the flow meter, whereby the time between pulses can be calculated and a graph of time between pulses versus volume per pulse can be generated for each specific meter, enabling the creation of a table having discreet O order and first order curve regions with the characteristics of the specific meter which can then be downloaded into the specific meter when operating in any one of the specific predetermined regions and thereby enabling an accurate calculation of volume per pulse and hence flow rate for the specific meter.
