TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe mirror symmetry in N = 2 superconformal field theories in terms of a dynamical topology changing process of the principal fiber bundle associated with a topological membrane.

TL;DR: In this article, the quantisation of particles and strings moving on a n-torus is discussed within the framework of a group theoretic scheme that respects the global topological structure of the system.
Abstract: The quantisation of particles and strings moving on a n-torus is discussed within the framework of a group theoretic scheme that respects the global topological structure of the system. It is shown how the representation of the disconnected part of the string's canonical group leads naturally to the extra canonical variables that have previously been introduced ad hoc. This extra circular degree of freedom is combined group theoretically with the constant string modes to give a left-right split.

TL;DR: In this article, the representation of the inverse picture-changing operator in terms of an appropriate truncation operator is found, which means that truncated Ramond string fields are inherent to the Witten construction.

TL;DR: The lecture notes of a set of lectures delivered at the 1995 Trieste summer school in June as mentioned in this paper describe a crash course in topological field theory, cohomology of manifolds, topological gauge theory and the rudiments of four manifold theory.
Abstract: These are the lecture notes of a set of lectures delivered at the 1995 Trieste summer school in June. I review some recent work on duality in four dimensional Maxwell theory on arbitrary four manifolds, as well as a new set of topological invariants known as the Seiberg-Witten invariants. Much of the necessary background material is given, including a crash course in topological field theory, cohomology of manifolds, topological gauge theory and the rudiments of four manifold theory. My main hope is to wet the readers appetite, so that he or she will wish to read the original works and perhaps to enter this field.

TL;DR: In this article, B-type D-branes in topological Landau-Ginzburg models are characterized by matrix factorizations of the superpotential of the matrix factorization.
Abstract: This thesis is concerned with D-branes in topological string theory, focusing on the description of B-type D-branes in topological Landau-Ginzburg models Such D-branes are characterized by matrix factorizations of the Landau-Ginzburg superpotential After reviewing some aspects of topological string theory we give a detailed discussion of matrix factorizations We discuss methods to calculate the effective superpotential in minimal models, putting emphasis on an algorithm to calculate the effective superpotential via deformations of matrix factorizations We furthermore perform a non-trivial check of homological mirror symmetry for the torus
