TL;DR: In this article, the authors derive the analog of the large N Gross-Taylor holomorphic string expansion for the refinement of q-deformed U(N) Yang-Mills theory on a compact oriented Riemann surface.
Abstract: We derive the analog of the large N Gross-Taylor holomorphic string expansion for the refinement of q-deformed U(N) Yang-Mills theory on a compact oriented Riemann surface. The derivation combines Schur-Weyl duality for quantum groups with the Etingof-Kirillov theory of generalized quantum characters which are related to Macdonald polynomials. In the unrefined limit we reproduce the chiral expansion of q-deformed Yang-Mills theory derived by de Haro, Ramgoolam and Torrielli. In the classical limit q = 1, the expansion defines a new β-deformation of Hurwitz theory wherein the refined partition function is a generating function for certain parameterized Euler characters, which reduce in the unrefined limit β = 1 to the orbifold Euler characteristics of Hurwitz spaces of holomorphic maps. We discuss the geometrical meaning of our expansions in relation to quantum spectral curves and β-ensembles of matrix models arising in refined topological string theory.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived a space-time uncertainty relation proposed by Yoneya through breakdown of topological symmetry in the large N matrix model and constructed a new matrix model on the basis of only two basic principles.

TL;DR: In this paper, a string-theoretic structure of the standard model is defined having a 4-D quantum gravity metric consistent with topological and algebraic first principles, and unique topological diagrams of string states, strong and weak interactions and quark families are evolved.
Abstract: A string-theoretic structure of the standard model is defined having a 4-D quantum gravity metric consistent with topological and algebraic first principles. Unique topological diagrams of string states, strong and weak interactions and quark families are evolved from this metric (but published separately). The theoretical structure includes known static and dynamic symmetries. A philosophical perspective on modern physics originates numerous opportunities for formal mathematical discussion.

TL;DR: In this paper, the twisted version of the Wess-Zumino-Witten model was studied and the fixed points under BRST transformation were reduced to a simple topological field theory.
Abstract: We study the twisted version of the supersymmetric $G/T=SU(n)/U(1)^{\otimes(n-1)} gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten model. By studying its fixed points under BRST transformation this model is shown to be reduced to a simple topological field theory, that is, the topological matter system in the K.Li's theory of 2 dimensional gravity for the case of $n=2$, and its generalization for $n \geq 3$.
