TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the non-critical c = 1 string at the self-dual radius is equivalent to topological strings based on the deformation of the conifold singularity of Calabi-Yau threefolds.

TL;DR: In this article, the spin chain operators in the N = 6 Chern-Simons-matter theory were studied and compared to type IIA string theory in AdS4 × CP 3, and the two-loop dilatation operator in the gauge theory was compared to the Penrose limit.
Abstract: In this note we study spin chain operators in the N = 6 Chern-Simons-matter theory recently proposed by Aharony, Bergman, Jafferis and Maldacena to be dual to type IIA string theory in AdS4 × CP 3 . We study the two-loop dilatation operator in the gauge theory, and compare to the Penrose limit on the string theory side.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the full series of membrane instanton corrections is completely determined by the refined topological string on the Calabi-Yau manifold known as local ℙ1/×/ℙ 1, in the NekrasovShatashvili limit.
Abstract: The partition function of ABJM theory on the three-sphere has nonperturbative corrections due to membrane instantons in the M-theory dual. We show that the full series of membrane instanton corrections is completely determined by the refined topological string on the Calabi-Yau manifold known as local ℙ1 × ℙ1, in the NekrasovShatashvili limit. Our result can be interpreted as a first-principles derivation of the full series of non-perturbative effects for the closed topological string on this Calabi-Yau background. Based on this, we make a proposal for the non-perturbative free energy of topological strings on general, local Calabi-Yau manifolds.

TL;DR: In this article, an analogous structure for the extended geometry of M-theory is constructed for the physical section condition for Mtheory formulated in an extended space, where the local symmetries are given by a generalised Lie derivative and its associated algebra.
Abstract: In the doubled field theory approach to string theory the T-duality group is promoted to a manifest symmetry at the expense of replacing ordinary Riemannian geometry with generalised geometry on a doubled space. The local symmetries are then given by a generalised Lie derivative and its associated algebra. This paper constructs an analogous structure for the extended geometry of M-theory. A crucial by-product of this construction is the derivation of the physical section condition for M-theory formulated in an extended space.

TL;DR: In this article, a non-minimal set of fields are added to the pure spinor formalism for the superstring twisted ĉ = 3 N = 2 generators, and the formalism is interpreted as a critical topological string.
Abstract: Following suggestions of Nekrasov and Siegel, a non-minimal set of fields are added to the pure spinor formalism for the superstring Twisted ĉ = 3 N = 2 generators are then constructed where the pure spinor BRST operator is the fermionic spin-one generator, and the formalism is interpreted as a critical topological string Three applications of this topological string theory include the super-Poincare covariant computation of multiloop superstring amplitudes without picture-changing operators, the construction of a cubic open superstring field theory without contact-term problems, and a new four-dimensional version of the pure spinor formalism which computes F-terms in the spacetime action
