TL;DR: In this article, the transient behavior of a weak probe in asymmetric double quantum well structures was investigated, where two excited states are coupled by resonant tunnelling through a thin barrier in a three-level system of electronic subbands.
Abstract: We investigate the transient behaviour of a weak probe in asymmetric double quantum well structures, where two excited states are coupled by resonant tunnelling through a thin barrier in a three-level system of electronic subbands. There is no external coherent coupling field applied, and we find that probe gain can be achieved during the transient process, which is induced by the coherent coupling of the upper states via the resonant tunnelling. We show that the transient behaviour of the probe depends on the coupling strength and the dephasing rate and can be tuned by changing the width of the tunnelling barrier.

TL;DR: In this paper, the metal-oxide varistor has a less effective voltage clamp at the required breakdown level of 33 to 36 volts compared to the shunt-type transient suppressor.
Abstract: The shunt-type transient suppressor currently being used by the U.S. Army for suppression of voltage transients in tactical and combat vehicles is applicable to military aircraft as well. Advances in metal-oxide varistor technology have led to the development of a low-cost, low-voltage device having a breakdown voltage designed for use in 28-V dc electrical systems. This paper discusses the avalanche diode and the metal-oxide varistor as high-power transient suppressors. lt shows that the metal-oxide varistor has a less effective voltage clamp at the required breakdown level of 33 to 36 volts.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of producing a power system computer aided design (PSCAD)/ electromagnetic transients including DC (EMTDC) electrical power system simulation model is presented.
Abstract: The invention discloses a method of producing a power system computer aided design (PSCAD)/ electromagnetic transients including DC (EMTDC) electrical power system simulation model. According to the method, power system simulator / engineering (PSS/E) format data files are used, and needed parameters to build the PSCAD/EMTDC electrical power system simulation model are extracted and calculated. Then, an electrical power network module is divided, and the parameters are used to produce automatic layout sub-network modules under the circumstance of PSCAD/EMTDC by passing through corresponding coordinates and changing algorithms. At last, auto routing is conducted among the sub-network modules and inside the modules, and building of the PSCAD/EMTDC electrical power system simulation model is achieved. According to arranged requirement of the parameters of a PSCAD/EMTDC electro-magnetic transient simulated program, the method is capable of conducting corresponding data conversion and inputting the PSCAD/EMTDC electro-magnetic transient simulated program. The produced PSCAD/EMTDC electrical power system simulation model can achieve efficient and accurate simulated analysis of the alternating current or direct current electrical power system.

TL;DR: In this article, a transient-feature clustering-based household load identification method was proposed, where an electric load feature database is established, an electric parameter of an electric loads is collected, a transient event of the load is detected by using a dual-side accumulated CUSUM algorithm of a sliding window, and transient data are recorded; a clustering analysis is carried out by using the sum-of-squared-error criterion function, and a transient feature is extracted.
Abstract: The invention discloses a transient-feature-clustering-based household load identification method. The method comprises: an electric load feature database is established; an electric parameter of an electric load is collected, a transient event of the load is detected by using a dual-side accumulated CUSUM algorithm of a sliding window, and transient data are recorded; a clustering analysis is carried out by using a sum-of-squared-error criterion function, and a transient feature is extracted; and the extracted transient feature is compared with the electric load feature database and a household load is identified. On the basis of the collected information like the electric parameter of the electric appliance, the clustering analysis is carried out based on using a K-mean-value sum-of-squared-error criterion function by using the load transient feature as a feature quantity, thereby identifying a load with a similar or overlapped steady feature, improving the load identification precision, and realizing load identification of a household appliance or electrical equipment. Moreover, the method is simple; the calculation load is low; the electricity using behavior of the user is regularized; the power transmission losses are reduced; and the energy utilization rate is improved.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the methodology of mathematical tests of physical model for pulse transient method and additional tests were found for the case of real experiment when disturbance effects like heat loss from the specimen surface and nonideality of the heat source influence the ideal model.
Abstract: The transient methods for the testing of thermophysical properties of materials are suitable for the material characterization, regarding the stability of the structure or structure changes invoked by treatment after production within technology process. Contact pulse transient technique is sensitive enough to be able to record the change in material structure during any kind of material treatment that influences overall material property. The reliability of any method in practice depends on fact how much does fit the model with experimental conditions. A detailed study has to be performed to find experimental circumstances when disturbing effects influence experimental data. In this paper we discuss the methodology of mathematical tests of physical model for pulse transient method. Additional tests were found for the case of real experiment when disturbance effects like heat loss from the specimen surface and non-ideality of the heat source influence the ideal model.
