TL;DR: In this article, a modular tray and lid combination for use in configuring a containment case includes one or more trays and a single lid, which are connected together either end-to-end or side-by-side or both.
Abstract: A modular tray and lid combination for use in configuring a containment case includes one or more trays and a single lid. When a plurality of trays are used they are connected together either end-to-end or side-by-side or both. The lid includes a plurality of slide latches that secure the lid to the tray or trays.

TL;DR: In this paper, an instrument for performing highly accurate PCR employing a sample block in microtiter tray format is described. But the sample block has local balance and local symmetry, and the control software includes diagnostics.
Abstract: An instrument for performing highly accurate PCR employing a sample block in microtiter tray format. The sample block has local balance and local symmetry. A three zone film heater controlled by a computer and ramp cooling solenoid valves also controlled by the computer for gating coolant flow through the block controls the block temperature. Constant bias cooling is used for small changes. Sample temperature is calculated instead of measured. A platen deforms plastic caps to apply a minimum acceptable threshold force for seating the tubes and thermally isolates them. A cover isolates the block. The control software includes diagnostics. An install program tests and characterizes the instrument. A new user interface is used. Disposable, multipiece plastic microtiter trays to give individual freedom to sample tubes are taught.

TL;DR: In this paper, a fiber optic distribution system provides a frame having several bays for receiving connector modules, associated jumper organizers, and upper and lower troughs for conveying jumper fibers between adjacent bays.
Abstract: A fiber optic distribution system provides a frame having several bays for receiving connector modules, associated jumper organizers, and upper and lower troughs for conveying jumper fibers between adjacent bays. The jumper organizers are constructed such that interbay jumpers need not undergo more than two continuous bends of 90°, and further easily store excess jumper slack, such as is required to avoid modal noise, even when both ends of the jumper are terminated in the same tray or cabinet. Each connector module has a plurality of connector trays pivotally attached to a cabinet using a swivel bracket which is located adjacent a gap in the tray sidewall; this allows placement of the incoming fibers into the tray without the need for threading the fibers through a hole, and also minimizes fiber stress during pivoting movement of the trays. Front and back plane storage areas are provided for receiving excess slack from both incoming and jumper fibers, and a passageway may join these areas to allow customized fiber circuit paths on the tray. Boot biasing ribs are provided on the tray, along with radius limiting ribs, to maintain a proper bend radius of the jumper fibers as they exit the tray. A novel coupling adapter is also provided which flips one end of the interconnection device upward to allow easier installation of a connector plug.

TL;DR: In this paper, a molded plastic low-depth tray for beverage cans or the like is presented, where the walls each have a plurality of can receiving openings out through which lower portions of cans, when held in the tray on the tray floor, partially extend.
Abstract: A molded plastic low-depth tray for beverage cans or the like. The low-depth tray walls angle inwardly to provide for deep empty tray nesting. Outer abutment tabs depending down from the top lip and on the outside of the walls prevent the empty trays when nested from wedging together. The walls each have a plurality of can receiving openings out through which lower portions of cans, when held in the tray on the tray floor, partially extend. Interior surfaces of the walls above the openings are outwardly curved to conform to the cylindrical sidewalls of the adjacent cans. The tray floor thereby has smaller length and width dimensions than that of the array of cans held in the tray. Redoubts or standoffs on the bottom of the floor lock on to the rims of cans in subjacent trays. Stable palletized stacking and cross-stacking of these trays when loaded with cans is thereby provided.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mandible extension dental device (10) is provided which includes adjustable upper and lower arch trays (12, 14) and coupling means (16) designed to pull the lower jaw of a user forwardly during sleep, so as to minimize snoring and mild apnea conditions.
Abstract: A mandible extension dental device (10) is provided which includes adjustable upper and lower arch trays (12, 14) and coupling means (16) designed to pull the lower jaw of a user forwardly during sleep, so as to minimize snoring and mild apnea conditions. Each of the arch trays (12, 14) includes a substantially rigid synthetic body (18, 38) equipped with a pair of generally L-shaped, continuous adjustment slots (32, 34 and 46, 48). Thermoplastic molding material (36, 60) within each tray (12, 14) permits custom fitting of the trays (12, 14) to the upper and lower arches of a patient. During such fitting, the tray bodies (18, 38) are adjusted as necessary owing to the provision of the slots (32, 34 and 46, 48) to accommodate the arch configurations of the patient. Once the material (36, 60) hardens, the patient-specific arch configurations are permanently retained. The device (10) can be rapidly fitted in the field without the need for the services of a dentist. The coupling means (16) can be infinitely adjusted while the device (10) is in the patient's mouth, to insure the most comfortable fit consistent with lower jaw extension.
