TL;DR: In this article, lead-containing raw glazes were applied on biscuit tile and fired at cones 02, 2, and 4, and the glaze body interface was examined microscopically by preparing thin cross sections.
Abstract: Lead-containing raw glazes were applied on biscuit tile and fired at cones 02, 2, and 4. The glaze body interface was examined microscopically by preparing thin cross sections. The powdered glassy portion was also investigated.
Because the crystals separating at the interface were frequently too small for satisfactory study, a technique for promoting their growth was used. Anorthite, wollasto-nite, gehlenite, undissolved quartz, tridymite, and cristobalite were observed.
The effects of altering the bases and the alumina and silica content of the glaze were studied, and the amount and the effect of the solution of the body were examined. The authors conclude that the interfacial layer is not necessarily intermediate in expansion conduct.

TL;DR: In this article, Rice husk was heat treated up to 1300°C and the products were examined by scanning electron microscopy and the fibrous structure of the initial rice husk persisted throughout.
Abstract: Rice husk was heat treated up to 1300°C and the products were examined by scanning electron microscopy. The fibrous structure of the initial rice husk persisted throughout. Cristobalite and tridymite were detected in the product at 1250°C by x-ray diffraction. The fibrous structures were characterized and shown to have a bearing on the formation of SiC whiskers as substrates.

TL;DR: The stuffed tridymites of the formula ABCO4 have been investigated in this article , showing that the structures are acentric but have low NLO conversions, which is expected due to the low polarizability of the building blocks.

TL;DR: In this paper, the specific features of crystal chemistry and physical properties of phosphates (arsenates, vanadates) of alkali and transition metals, crystallized as derivatives of minerals ellenbergerite, have been analyzed in the aspect of flexibility of their radically different frameworks.
Abstract: The specific features of crystal chemistry and physical properties of phosphates (arsenates, vanadates) of alkali and transition metals, crystallized as derivatives of minerals ellenbergerite (Mg,Ti,Zr,

)2Mg6(A1,Mg)6(Si,P)2Si6O28(OH)10 and β-tridymite SiO2, have been analyzed in the aspect of flexibility of their radically different frameworks. The crystal chemical function of cations of transition metals in the structures of ellenbergerite- and tridymite-like analogs has been discussed. The data on their formation methods and thermodynamic and electrical properties are given. The reasons for the structural differences of tridymite-like phases and the relationship between the polymorphism and variations in the coordination polyhedra of transition metals, tending to the most stable configuration, have been investigated.

TL;DR: AlPO4-cesium oxide (20 wt.%) materials retain a low degree of crystallinity on calcination at 873 K for 3 h as mentioned in this paper. But they do not have the P−OH stretching vibration of unmodified AlPO4.
Abstract: AlPO4-cesium oxide (20 wt.%) materials retain a low degree of crystallinity on calcination at 873 K for 3 h. After DTA measurements (1423 K), AlPO4 crystallizes (tridymite form). Furthermore, DRIFT spectroscopy shows that the P−OH stretching vibration (at 3670 cm−1) of AlPO4 support disappears upon cesium oxide loading. Moreover, Al and P atoms remain in tetrahedral coordination as in unmodified AlPO4. Furthermore, the incorporation of cesium oxide leads, simultaneously, to a progressive decrease in surface area and pore volume as well as to an increase in the most frequently occurring pore radius.
