TL;DR: A new design for a tube sump drain-irrigation device that functions effectively because of the physical properties of the synthetic nylon net which maintains an intake air passage between the suction tube and the outer sheath.
Abstract: A new design for a tube sump drain-irrigation device is described. The important features of the drain are as follows: Materials needed to make the device are readily available and the assembly of it is easily accomplished. The problem of clogging of the tube by clots and debris is eliminated. Irrigation of a wound or abscess cavity may be carried out effectively. The drain functions effectively because of the physical properties of the synthetic nylon net which maintains an intake air passage between the suction tube and the outer sheath. Experience with 31 patients has been satisfactory.

TL;DR: In this article, an indwelling fecal diverting device is described, which consists of an elongate tube formed, at the upper end thereof, with a tubular body part; a pair of fixing balloons attached up and down to an outer surface of the tubular part such that a clamping portion is defined between the fixing balloons; and a tube opening and closing balloon attached to an inner surface of a tube.
Abstract: Disclosed is an indwelling fecal diverting device. The device comprises an elongate tube formed, at an upper end thereof, with a tubular body part; a pair of fixing balloons attached up and down to an outer surface of the tubular body part such that a clamping portion is defined between the fixing balloons; and a tube opening and closing balloon attached to an inner surface of the tubular body part. An injection passage is defined in the tube so that a remedial liquid can be injected through the injection passage to the outside of the tube to medically treat an anastomosed portion of an intestinal tract of a patient. The indwelling fecal diverting device is fitted into the intestinal tract of the patient, air is supplied into the fixing balloons to inflate them, and the intestinal tract is clamped around the clamping portion using a clamping band.

TL;DR: An auxiliary electromagnetic thermal treatment apparatus (100) for use with an endoscope is provided in this article, which includes a handle portion (102) and an elongate portion (104) connected to the handle portion.
Abstract: An auxiliary electromagnetic thermal treatment apparatus (100) for use with an endoscope is provided. The apparatus includes a handle portion (102) and an elongate portion (104) connected to the handle portion (102). The elongate portion (104) includes at least one delivery tube (116) having a memory portion (120) comprised of a shape memory material, and defining a normally unstressed curved configuration. The one delivery tube (116) is moveable relative to the handle portion (102). An electromagnetic probe (124) is disposed within the delivery tube (116), and is moveable relative to the delivery tube (116) to extend a probe end portion beyond the delivery tube (116) into tissue. A first actuator (108) is mounted to the handle portion (102), and connected to the delivery tube (116) to move the delivery tube (116) between a first retracted position and a second advanced position. A second actuator (110) is also mounted to the handle portion (102), and is connected to the probe (124) to extend the probe (124) beyond the delivery tube (116).

TL;DR: A reversible-action endoprosthesis delivery device as discussed by the authors consists of an axially extending inner tube (8) surrounded by an outer sheath (16) comprising remotely activable retaining means (20) for maintaining or releasing the end-rosthesis in a fixed axial relationship relative to the inner tube.
Abstract: A reversible-action endoprosthesis delivery device (1) comprising an axially extending inner tube (8) surrounded by an outer sheath (16) comprising remotely activable retaining means (20) for maintaining or releasing the endoprosthesis (7) in a fixed axial relationship relative to the inner tube (8) so that up to the end of the placement procedure, the endoprosthesis (7) can be withdrawn and replaced in a more suitable position.
