TL;DR: In this paper, a movable-body navigation information display unit is presented, where a driver can intuitively recognize a relation between navigation information and a real picture or a real landscape.
Abstract: A movable-body navigation information display unit is provided. In the movable-body navigation information display unit, a driver can intuitively and accurately recognize a relation between navigation information and a real picture or a real landscape. In addition, it is possible to avoid a state that visibility of a caution-needed picture such as a pedestrian in the real picture and a real picture of a road construction site is inhibited by an image of the navigation information. An image data creating section (405) matches road shape data with a road shape model to estimate posture data. In addition, the image data creating section creates picture (image) data for accurately compositing and displaying the image of the navigation information in an appropriate position in a real picture (or in a real landscape) of a road ahead of a movable body, and displays the navigation information as a three-dimensional icon or the like. A picture display section (5) performs display based on the picture data.

TL;DR: In this article, a navigation system can route users to preferred locations based on user profile data and past experience with the present driver and other drivers and provide more cost-effective and time-sensitive routing by incorporating other information about destinations.
Abstract: Methods and systems for an improved navigation environment are provided. The navigation system can route users to preferred locations based on user profile data and past experience with the present driver and other drivers. The system provides more cost-effective and time-sensitive routing by incorporating other information about destinations. Further, the navigation system provides enhanced guidance in foreign or unfamiliar locations by incorporating experience from other drivers and other data.

TL;DR: In this paper, a vehicle navigation system (100) comprises a planning module (110) for planning a route between an origin and a destination and subsequently guiding the driver along the planned route The system further comprises a receiver (124) for the reception of traffic messages related to problem locations on roads.
Abstract: A vehicle navigation system (100) comprises a planning module (110) for planning a route between an origin and a destination and subsequently guides the driver along the planned route The system further comprises a receiver (124) for the reception of traffic messages related to problem locations on roads, which messages are transferred to the driver The navigation system according to the invention is arranged to read from its storage medium (106) with the map database additional information (404) indicating the potential problem locations for roads in the database In this way, the information from the traffic message can be combined with the information from the map database and further exploited in the system, eg for planning a new route

TL;DR: In this paper, an end user of a navigation system that uses geographic data can easily report perceived errors or inaccuracies in the geographic data or other problems such as poor quality route calculation or guidance.
Abstract: A feature whereby an end user of a navigation system that uses geographic data can easily report perceived errors or inaccuracies in the geographic data or other problems such as poor quality route calculation or guidance. The end user uses a user interface of the navigation system to indicate the perceived error, inaccuracy, or other problem. The navigation system includes a report program that operates in response to the end user's indication. The report program collects information indicating the error, inaccuracy, or other problem and sends a report including the collected information to a geographic database developer. The geographic database developer can use the information in the report to update a geographic database.

TL;DR: In this article, a communication type navigation system representing information for helping a user to select a route when selecting a leading path from a plurality of advised routes searched is presented, where the valuation information is referenced by the user of the navigation terminal so that the user can select a desired advised route from the plurality of advice routes.
Abstract: A communication type navigation system representing information for helping a user to select a route when selecting a leading path from a plurality of advised routes searched. According to a route search request from a navigation terminal (60), a navigation information providing server (10) performs route search and selects a plurality of advised routes. Moreover, evaluation information is created for the plurality of advised routes selected by using information (traffic information, meteorological information, facility information, user profile information) managed/held by the navigation information providing server (10). The valuation information is referenced by the user of the navigation terminal (60) so that the user can select a desired advised route from the plurality of advised routes.
