TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a method for displaying in real-time a video feed of the path ahead while superimposing transparent cartographic information with navigation instructions, aiming to improve the user's navigation experience by making it easier to relate to the real world with 3D maps and representative navigation instructions.
Abstract: A method with which navigation instructions are displayed on a screen. Preferably, using an augmented-reality approach whereby the path to the destination and 3D mapping objects such as buildings and landmarks are highlighted on a video feed of the surrounding environment ahead of the user. The invention is designed to run within embodiments the likes of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), smartphones or in-dash vehicle infotainment systems, displaying in real-time a video feed of the path ahead while superimposing transparent cartographic information with navigation instructions. The aim is to improve the user's navigation experience by making it easier to relate to the real world with 3D maps and representative navigation instructions. This method makes it safer to view the navigation screen and the user can locate landmarks, narrow streets and the final destination more easily.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system for providing redirection addresses for a wireless web access device is described, which is coupled to a navigation control unit that includes user controls, such as buttons.
Abstract: A system for providing redirection addresses for a wireless web access device is disclosed. The wireless web access device is coupled to a navigation control unit that includes user controls, such as buttons. A navigation server coupled to the wireless web access device via a network (e.g., the Internet), receives signals identifying the navigation control unit and one of the user controls actuated by a user. In response thereto, the navigation server accesses a database to identify a redirect address, and provides such address to the wireless web access device. Also disclosed are methods, data structures, and display descriptions associated with the navigation server.

TL;DR: A navigation agent is selectively activated by a user when navigating through the on-line information service, such as the Internet, and effects recording of navigation information while the user navigates through the information service.
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and article of manufacture for enhancing navigation of an on-line multiple-resource information service is disclosed. A navigation agent is selectively activated by a user when navigating through the on-line information service, such as the Internet, and effects recording of navigation information while the user navigates through the information service. The recorded navigation information may be categorized in a manner useful to the user and stored as part of a collection of categorized navigation information for later use. The navigation information recorded by the navigation agent may be formatted in the form of a navigation script representing computer input device information received from a user, information service address information received from the user or the information service, or a combination of this and other information associated with navigating through the information service. A selected navigation script may be executed by the user to arrive at an end destination defined in the script or, alternatively, executed in a step-through manner to permit user-evaluation of intermediate locations along a previously traversed navigation path.
