TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a system and methods for providing multiple user support for shared user equipment in fantasy sports contest applications, in which user specific information such as identification information, participation information, user preference information, or any other suitable information associated with the user, may be stored.
Abstract: This invention provides systems and methods for providing multiple user support for shared user equipment in fantasy sports contest applications. A fantasy sports contest application may allow users to setup unique user accounts, in which user specific information such as, for example, identification information, fantasy sports contest participation information, user preference information, or any other suitable information associated with the user, may be stored. The application may personalize fantasy sports contest information and displays for the user. Local fantasy sports leagues may be created for users of common user equipment so that they may compete against each other.

TL;DR: In this article, a system and method for creating one or more dynamic visual representations of a user and sharing the dynamic visual representation with contacts of the user is presented, which can be simultaneously displayed for multiple users and may be used to create a visual component in a contact application such as an address book application.
Abstract: A system and method are provided for creating one or more dynamic visual representations of a user and sharing the dynamic visual representations with contacts of the user. The dynamic visual representations are created from video data captured by the user to indicate the status of the user such as an emotion of the user. The dynamic visual representations include video or image data that is displayed so as to give an appearance of motion. In some embodiments, a displayed dynamic visual representation is changed in response to an action by the user or an action by one of the contacts of the user. The dynamic visual representations may be simultaneously displayed for multiple users and may be used to create a visual component in a contact application such as an address book application.

TL;DR: An approach for dynamically correcting an interface ngent’s user model based on utility theory is described and an approach based on a multi-agent bidding process and the aforementioned metrics and utility function is presented.
Abstract: The complexity of current computer systems and software vrarrants research into methods to decrease the cognitive load on users. Determining horr to get the right information into the right form vrith the right tool at the right time has bccomc a monumental task one necessitating intelligent intarfacc agents vlith the ability to predict the users’ needs and intent, An accurate user model is considered necessary for effective prediction of user intent. Methods for maintaining nccurato user models is the main thrust of this paper. We describe an approach for dynamically correcting an interface ngent’s user model based on utility theory. We explicitly take into account an agent’s requirements and metrics for mc,asuring the agent’s effectiveness of meeting those requirements, Using these requirements and metrics, me devclop a requirements utility function that determines when a user model should be corrected and how. We present a correction model based on a multi-agent bidding process and the aforementioned metrics and utility function. Finally, me discuss several critical research issues concerning the use of user models that open fertile ground for future research.
