TL;DR: An aromatic copolyamide contains repeating units of formulae (I), (II) -(OC-Ar-CO-NH-Ar -NH)- (III) as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: An aromatic copolyamide contains repeating units of formulae (I), (II) -(OC-Ar -CO-NH-Ar -NH)- (II) and -(OC-Ar -CO-NH-Ar -NH)- (III). Ar , Ar , Ar , Ar = divalent aromatic gps. with their valency bonds in p-position or in a coaxial or parallel position comparable to this; Ar = divalent aromatic gp., different from Ar , with valency bonds in p-position or in a comparable coaxial or parallel position to each other, or is a divalent aromatic gp. with valency bonds in m-position to each other or in a comparably angled position; Y = -O-, -S- or -NR -; R = monovalent organic gp., or esp. H; the Ar gps. may be substituted with 1 or 2 gps. inert to carboxylic acid chlorides.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that Al goes anodically into solution as Al(3+) (not as a lower valency ion) and that during the electrolysis a partial dis integration of the anodic metal occurs.
Abstract: : The intention of the article is to show that Al goes anodically into solution as Al(3+) (not as a lower valency ion) and that during the electrolysis a partial dis integration of the anodic metal occurs. Disintegration of Al also takes place while reacting with H2O in presence of Hg.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated 17 binary and some ternary intermetallic compounds of Yb in order to determine the factors controlling its valency, from susceptibility measurements between 1.4 and 1060 K the trivalent state can be firmly established by the validity of the Curie-Weiss law in 7 systems.
Abstract: We have investigated 17 binary and some ternary intermetallic compounds of Yb in order to determine the factors controlling its valency. From susceptibility measurements between 1.4 and 1060 K the trivalent state can be firmly established by the validity of the Curie‐Weiss law in 7 systems. Diamagnetism or weakly temperature dependent paramagnetism, indicative of divalent Yb, is found in 7 systems. In YbGa2 and especially YbCu2 the temperature dependence is too strong to classify these systems as simple Pauli paramagnets, and in YbAl2, YbAl3 and YbCuAl the susceptibility goes through a maximum and becomes Curie‐Weiss like at high temperatures. Yb in the latter five systems is considered having an intermediate valency. A correlation is established between the valency of Yb and the electronegativity of its metallic environment. The temperature dependence of the susceptibility of the intermediate‐valency systems can be reasonably described by invoking a 4f resonance on each Yb ion, but the complete lack of saturation cannot be understood within this picture. Other semi‐empirical and theoretical formulae are also partially succesful, but none of them offers a complete description of the results.

01 Jan 2013TL;DR: In this paper, it is argued that the neglected area of adjectival valency can shed some new light on this fundamental question, and the evidence in favour of a constructional approach are the considerable differences in the possibilities of valency realisation between adjectives in attributive and in predicative function.
Abstract: The article offers new data to the debate on lexical vs. constructional approaches to valency. Research on valency has mainly been concerned with verbs, and in this article it is argued that the neglected area of adjectival valency can shed some new light on this fundamental question. Among the evidence in favour of a constructional approach are the considerable differences in the possibilities of valency realisation between adjectives in attributive and in predicative function. It is also argued that a constructional approach allows for a more principled treatment of polysemy between valency variants.
