TL;DR: In this paper, a method for the determination of the Cu (III) content was established via oxidation of H2O to O2, and the results showed that (I) is a phase with integral Cu valency, while the superconducting phase is a mixed valence system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the X-ray absorption spectra of the Cu K-edge have been obtained for a high-T c superconductor YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−y by in-situ high temperature measurements between room temperature and 600 °C and for quenched samples prepared by rapid cooling from various temperatures up to 880 °C.

TL;DR: The magnetic transport and thermal properties of RE3Ir4Sn13 (RE: La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu) (single crystals) have been investigated.
Abstract: The magnetic transport and thermal properties of RE3Ir4Sn13 (RE: La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu) (single crystals) have been investigated. Ce3Ir4Sn13 is found to be a heavy fermion compound with two-stage phase transitions at 0.6 K and 2.1 K. Eu3Ir4Sn13 is an intermediate valence compound with an antiferromagnetic transition at 10 K and an additional phase transition near 50 K. Sm3Ir4Sn13 has a stable Sm3+ valency, and shows an antiferromagnetic phase transition below 5.8 K. The Pr and Nd compounds show no clear magnetic phase transition down to 1.8 K.

TL;DR: The ionicity phase diagrams for a variety of charge transfer systems are discussed to provide a strategy for the development of functional organic materials.
Abstract: Mixed-valence (partial charge transfer state) and segregated stacking are the key factors for constructing organic metals. Here, we discuss the ionicity phase diagrams for a variety of charge transfer systems to provide a strategy for the development of functional organic materials (Mott insulator, semiconductor, superconductor, metal, complex isomer, neutral-ionic system, etc.).
