TL;DR: In this paper, a large-scale systematic literature review with two case studies is presented to understand how drivers and inhibitors for stakeholder integration are disordered and reorganized in different situations, creating examples of systems that link interorganizational elements and events.

TL;DR: In this article, value chain analysis enriches disease risk assessment providing a framework for interdisciplinary collaboration, which seems to be in increasing demand for problems concerning infectious livestock diseases, and the best way to achieve this is to ensure that veterinary epidemiologists and social scientists work together throughout the process at all levels.
Abstract: Classical risk assessment approaches for animal diseases are influenced by the probability of release, exposure and consequences of a hazard affecting a livestock population Once a pathogen enters into domestic livestock, potential risks of exposure and infection both to animals and people extend through a chain of economic activities related to producing, buying and selling of animals and products Therefore, in order to understand economic drivers of animal diseases in different ecosystems and to come up with effective and efficient measures to manage disease risks from a country or region, the entire value chain and related markets for animal and product needs to be analysed to come out with practical and cost effective risk management options agreed by actors and players on those value chains Value chain analysis enriches disease risk assessment providing a framework for interdisciplinary collaboration, which seems to be in increasing demand for problems concerning infectious livestock diseases The best way to achieve this is to ensure that veterinary epidemiologists and social scientists work together throughout the process at all levels

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined how the factor and product markets are related to organisational capacity and firm performance in the container shipping industry and found that the price on the product market is positively related to the production capacity of the industry.
Abstract: Firms buy factor inputs in the factor market and sell value-added outputs to customers in the product market. Firms also engage in economic exchanges along and across the value chain. The combination of these value-adding and exchange functions determine a firm's performance. This paper examines how the factor and product markets are related to organisational capacity and firm performance in the container shipping industry. The findings revealed that the price on the product market is positively related to the production capacity of the industry. This study also illustrates the relationship between firm size and level of vertical expansion for carriers to own ships rather than charter ships from the factor market. A regression equation model is developed to predict the level of ordering new ships by ocean carriers. This study tests the relationship between organisational capacity and firm performance, shedding light on the profitability of ocean carriers.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the implementation of a tool called Supply Chain Value Stream Mapping (SCVSM) in order to thoroughly understand competitive performance of the supply chain.
Abstract: Purpose – The issue of the supply chain has been given much attention in recent decades, both in the academic arena as well as in the business world. It has become so important that organizations have begun to directly manage the supply chain, appointing specific managers to perform this function. New challenges now include a focus on supply to determine the right time and place for product delivery. Some authors indicate a close relationship between Total Quality Management and the supply chain regarding its philosophical and operational goals and perspectives. Lee (2004) goes even further by indicating that only organizations that devise agile, adaptable and aligned supply chains will be able to continue competing in today’s environment. Therefore, observing and measuring the supply chain at all times is critical for today’s organizations. The purpose of this paper is to describe the implementation of a tool called Supply Chain Value Stream Mapping (SCVSM) in order to thoroughly understand competitive p...
