TL;DR: In this article, the appliance of value engineering in Great Amman Municipality was investigated by using the Traveling salesman module, and an AutoCAD map was given to highlight the garbage collection containers and all possible routes to these locations.
Abstract: During the last decade, waste management have become increasingly popular interest. In the present paper, the appliance of value engineering in Great Amman Municipality was investigated by using the Traveling salesman module. The concord software used for solving the problem and An AutoCAD map is given to highlight the garbage collection containers and all possible routes to these locations. A mathematical model was developed to show how the actual collection is being carried out, Finally, the optimal solution is estimated by each routing optimization algorithm.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present research attempts to design called valueengineering expert system in suburban highway design (VEESSHD) that employ the power and abilities of expertise system in solving complex problems to assist decision team in highway design.
Abstract: Value = (Performance + Capability)/Cost
= Function/Cost (1)Value analysis is a powerful problem solving
tool that can reduce cost while maintaining or
improving performance requirements (Woodhead and
McCuish, 2002; Kelly and Male, 2004). Hussain
(2001) present research attempts to design called Value
engineering expert system in suburban highway design
(VEESSHD) that employ the power and abilities of
expert system in solving complex problems to assist
decision team in suburban highway design.

01 Nov 2014TL;DR: The novel IT value engineering method was developed based on the engineering philosophies and concepts that already exist for computer/electronic engineering, software engineering and systems engineering and applied in case study of plantation sector companies in Indonesia to test the proposed method.
Abstract: The paper proposes an IT value engineering method for private sector organization. With defined organization performances and/or strategic directions, the method gives guidance for finding optimal IT resources needed by the organization to reach the organization performances. The method was developed based on the engineering philosophies and concepts that already exist for computer/electronic engineering, software engineering and systems engineering. Literature review and synthesis comprising IT Value research and Resource-Based View (RBV) theory were conducted in method development. We apply the novel IT value engineering method in case study of plantation sector companies in Indonesia to test the proposed method. Discussion and managerial implication are provided.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a survey targeting residents and sewage treatment facilities, civil engineering a VE project professionals for effectively operating the sewage treatment facility and improving its value to be built in the future.
Abstract: Recently, the demand of sewage treatment facilities have increased by growing the population growth of city and industrialization. However, most of public sewage treatment facilities lack the preparations of design criteria by increasing sewage water amount in the future. In order to respond to this situation, the government has consistently promoted the sewage treatment construction project. This study conducted a survey targeting residents and sewage treatment facilities, civil engineering a VE project professionals for effectively operating the sewage treatment facilities and improving its value to be built in the future. Based on this survey, this study will introduce the list of performance measurements which can not only save cost but also reflect opinion of users and residents. In addition, using Multi-Level Performance Measurement and AHP analyzed the weights of performance measurement which is more objective than existing things for applying efficient VE process
