Abstract: This paper presents a methodology that can be used for cost reduction of any product using the fundamental principles of Value Engineering. The paper specifically focuses on assembly called Arm Cross Bar (ACB) which is a sub-assembly of earth moving equipment called Wheel Loader. Wheel loader is a heavy equipment often used in construction and mining application, primarily used to transfer material from stockpiles to trucks, or transport material around job sites. Using value analysis tools, ACB was analysed and design alternatives were identified, that can reduce the weight as well as cost of the assembly without compromising the functional parameters. This will help the company to offer the product at a very competitive price [i, ii]. This will enhance customer delight, increase in sales of product and very importantly reduce the carbon foot print.

TL;DR: A four-dimensional model (enterprise function, cost, value and event) is given and a new VE analysis methodology for enterprise management is given, a novel tool of enterprise management planning and assistant decision.
Abstract: Value based management (VBM) aims to promote value of an enterprise, and value engineering (VE) aims to promote value by least cost. Combining these two ideas, this paper proposes a value-event path model based value engineering analysis methodology. In a management process, value of an enterprise is changed dynamically and the change of the value corresponds to an event which happens to the enterprise. In other words, events indicate changes of enterprise value. In this paper, the concepts of enterprise event, value-event node, and value-event path are defined formally. A management process can be looked upon as a value-event path. A good management process is a value-event path along which value increases by the event sequence, while a bad management process is a value-event path along which value decreases by the event sequence. Furthermore, an event in a value-event path can correspond to the ratio of enterprise function to cost. Therefore, a four-dimensional model (enterprise function, cost, value and event) is given in this paper. Multidimensional analysis on this model is a new VE analysis methodology for enterprise management. The methodology is a novel tool of enterprise management planning and assistant decision.

TL;DR: The European experience shows that more economical projects and a larger variety of structures as far aesthetics, safety and impact on the environment is concerned, will result as discussed by the authors, but the possible gains should help promote the acceptance of this system in this country.
Abstract: For many years Design-Build-Proposals have been common practice in Europe (except in the UK). Structures in these countries are 20% more economical than similar projects in the U. S., after engineering cost. Recent developments in the U. S. show a trend to alternative designs. Value engineering proposals are becoming accepted in recent years and current practice even allows contractors to make proposals on their own designs. The European experience shows that more economical projects and a larger variety of structures as far aesthetics, safety and impact on the environment is concerned, will result. There are many obstacles in present U. S. procedures to this system, but the possible gains should help promote the acceptance of this system in this country.

TL;DR: In this article, target costing management is a collection of methods and tools of efficient management like activity based on cost (ABC), value engineering, value cycle, Kaizen, life cycle of product that follows the purpose of decreasing cost products through design and production phase to produce customer's favorite product with desired price and ultimately distribute in the market.
Abstract: he target costing management is a collection of methods and tools of efficient management like activity based on cost (ABC), value engineering, value cycle, Kaizen, life cycle of product that follows the purpose of decreasing cost products through design and production phase to produce customer’s favorite product with desired price and ultimately distribute in the market. Several studies by Masters and PhD students in this field have been done show that the necessity of using these techniques in the organization has been felt in Iran in the recent years. Some organizations already used these techniques for achieving the above objectives and some of them have already achieved a moderate degree of successes. current conditions of the world economic activity in the markets for commercial successes require high-quality products and services. In the new concept, the influence of these new techniques would have a great impact on the demand of customers.

TL;DR: In this article, an exploratory study addressed the need to identify specific and holistic upfront expectations into industrial value engineering projects for best tailored preparation of an efficient project execution and highlighted the necessity of rigor with regards to the utilization and application of terminology.
Abstract: This exploratory study addresses the need to identify specific and holistic upfront expectations into industrial value engineering projects for best tailored preparation of an efficient project execution. The analysis includes a total base population of 90 projects, which were conducted between 2010 and 2018 in 16 different industries. Out of those, 63 projects had a narrower value engineering context and have been analyzed with the support of a CAQDAS tool (Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software). Analytical results show that participants' expectations in value engineering projects vary depending on their industrial environments, but cope with existing studies on critical success factors for project management. Based on the findings the author recommends further research on fast project execution, closing the gap between trainingand project content as well as emphasizing the necessity of rigor with regards to the utilization and application of terminology, which includes sharpening the correct interpretation of value engineering, its tools and contents.
