TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply analysis of competency value to the recruitment of salesman by the combination between competency and value engineering, thus providing a new train of thought for salesman management.
Abstract: Good salesman can save cost and bring about more profit for enterprise, so enterprise must pay attention to the recruitment of salesman. This article applies analysis of competency value to the recruitment of salesman by the combination between competency and value engineering, thus provides a new train of thought for salesman management.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors apply the MIMS key decision management components including asset valuation as a monetary measure of performance to a pavement asset management case study within a Canadian urban municipality and demonstrate that appropriate increases in spending can improve the net financial bottom line.
Abstract: The traditional pavement management system approach optimizes treatment scheduling based on physical condition performance. The recent initiatives of the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) are consistent with the concept of using monetary performance in the decision management process. Part of the unique functionality of Municipal Infrastructure Management System (MIMS) optimization model is a detailed modeling approach, which improves modeling reliability and incorporates monetary performance in the optimization process. In this model, the optimal solution integrates the combined monetary impact of minimizing operations expenditures and maximizing the value of the asset. The result provides a dollar to dollar comparison of financial expenditures to monetary performance. This paper discusses the MIMS key decision management components including asset valuation as a monetary measure of performance. The application is applied to a pavement asset management case study within a Canadian urban municipality. The case study illustrates that appropriate increases in spending can improve the net financial bottom line. This paper is based on a paper entitled "Asset Valuation Decision Management Applied to Pavement Optimization" presented in June 2008 in Calgary, Alberta at the International Conference on Managing Pavement Assets (ICMPA).

TL;DR: In this paper, value engineering along with hierarchical analytic processing method as instruments to select the best choice for the type of dam and the spillway are utilized to do this, three categories of operational cost, time and performance as the main indicators of decision-making have been considered.
Abstract: One of the biggest items in decision-making is selecting the best choices considering all their aspects. In the meantime, employing an instrument that can guide the choice in a structuralized way is very useful. In this research, value engineering along with hierarchical analytic processing method as instruments to select the best choice for the type of dam and the spillway are utilized. To do this, three categories of operational cost, time and performance as the main indicators of decision-making have been considered. The results revealed that the best choice is the roller compacted concrete dam with free spillway.
