TL;DR: In this paper, the techniques of value engineering have been studied for finding the suitable maintenance practice, which is a rigorous, systematic effort to improve the value and optimize the life cycle cost of a facility.
Abstract: In this study the techniques of value engineering have been studied for finding the suitable maintenance practice. Value engineering is a one of the most powerful decision making techniques which depends upon factor. The VE process identifies; opportunities to remove unnecessary costs while assuring that quality, reliability, performance, and other critical factors will meet or exceed the customer's expectations. The improvements are the result of recommendations made by multidisciplinary teams representing all parties involved. VE is a rigorous, systematic effort to improve the value and optimize the life cycle cost of a facility. Using factor comparison study has been made between different maintenance practice .and finally select best maintenance practice based of value engineering.

TL;DR: In this paper, the value of existing federal water resources projects is estimated from historical construction costs and a value of improved operation of existing facilities is then estimated and shown to be at least as large as value of new construction for the next 20 years.
Abstract: The value of existing federal water resources projects is estimated from historical construction costs. The value of improved operation of existing facilities is then estimated and shown to be at least as large as the value of new construction for the next 20 years. It is suggested that these improvements in operation of existing facilities can be obtained at about one percent of the cost of constructing new facilities to produce the same amount of benefits. Finally, recommendations are presented for reviewing and improving the operation of existing projects.

TL;DR: In this paper , value engineering design management factors were identified and then grouped into three categories of designers' conditions, owner and stakeholders' conditions and value engineering conditions, based on the assumptions made, these value engineering components were prioritized by their significance.
Abstract: Design management is one of the most important construction project stages. Identifying the factors that impact a project’s performance is crucial for the overall success of construction projects. This research contributes to the body of knowledge by examining value engineering elements that might affect design management performance to keep the project team focused on those issues to achieve successful design management performance. As an integrated aspect of lean construction, this would result in a successful project with minimal waste of time, cost, or rework. Based on the assumptions made, these value engineering components were prioritized by their significance. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first to quantitatively examine the impact of value engineering parameters on design management performance. After a detailed analysis of the literature and consultation with value engineering experts and design professionals, 22 value engineering design management factors were identified and then grouped into the three categories of designers’ conditions, owner and stakeholders’ conditions, and value engineering conditions. A questionnaire was designed and distributed to construction industry professionals to rank the factors on a five-point Likert scale. One hundred and fifty complete responses were received. The structural equation model (SEM) and the collected data were used to study the relationship and association between these value engineering factors and design management performance. After performing a thorough analysis of the results, the top-ranked group was found to be the owner and stakeholders’ conditions, followed by the group of value engineering conditions and design conditions, respectively. The results of this study will help design professionals consider the value engineering factors during the design stage of a project according to their importance, as suggested by this research.

TL;DR: This study aims to obtain cost savings made during the design phase and irrigation drainage project implementation in Sukawati, Gianyar by using the steps of value engineering plan, i.e., information, creative, analysis, development, and recommendation steps.
Abstract: In this globalization era, many alternative choices of construction materials. The limited funds available make engineers have to think creatively to choose materials used in order to obtain the cost as efficiently as possible. There are many ways to do the cost efficiency of the project, one of them by doing value engineering. The construction design selection is very important to do because it can show the project quality, as well as produce the development with an efficient and optimal cost. The value engineering approach in the construction field is an organized and creative approach aimed at identifying unnecessary costs. These unnecessary costs are costs that do not provide quality or USAbility/functionality. The value engineering application is to construct projects has considerable potential savings from the project budget. This study aims to obtain cost savings made during the design phase and irrigation drainage project implementation. The scope of the study in the present study is the wall project on the DAS irrigation drainage improvement at Cengcengan River in Sukawati, Gianyar. This analysis uses the steps of value engineering plan, i.e., information, creative, analysis, development, and recommendation steps. Whereas, the criteria used to evaluate the components/systems included aspects of cost, quality, implementation time, methods, mobilization, availability, and aesthetics.
