Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, a new dense form of iron vanadate Fe 3+ V 5+ O 4 has been synthesized under high pressure high temperature conditions in a sealed platinum capsule, which cristallizes in a structure of monoclinic wolframite NiWO 4 type.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the scheelite-type structure of the A1−x−x ǫxxMO4 formula was described, and the phases with no defects were known except for those of the type A1+.5A3+.5MO4 where A1+ is Ag or Tl and M is Mo6+ or W6+.

Patent
10 May 1974
TL;DR: In this paper, an improved process for oxidizing vat or sulfur dyes is provided wherein the reduced form of the dye is oxidized by contact with an aqueous oxidizing solution comprising an alkali metal or ammonium vanadate and an oxidant comprising an ammonium bromate or iodate.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the reaction rates obtained for p-xylene followed the relation, Image based on the redox model, and the mechanism of the reaction was determined by conducting different sets of experiments and it was found that the reaction followed the parallel-consecutive mechanism, in which p-tolualdehyde and maleic anhydride were formed from the parallel route whereas p-trephthalic acid was formed from a consecutive route.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the luminescence of cerium and bismuth vanadate associates in calcium sulphate is reported and evidence is presented for energy transfer from the Ce 3+ ion to the vanadates group.

Patent
11 Jun 1974
TL;DR: A process for the preparation of vanadium, vanadium alloys, or vanadium compounds from vanadium-containing slags by heating these slags in a reaction furnace under the influence of sodium carbonate and oxygen at a temperature between 600* and 800*C and subsequently leaching the reaction product with water so that the resultant vanadate enters into solution and is then processed to the desired vanadium product in a manner known per se as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of vanadium, vanadium alloys, or vanadium compounds from vanadium-containing slags by heating these slags in a reaction furnace under the influence of sodium carbonate and oxygen at a temperature between 600* and 800*C and subsequently leaching the reaction product with water so that the resultant vanadate enters into solution and is then processed to the desired vanadium product in a manner known per se, characterized in that an amount of sodium carbonate is used at which the ratio (quantity by weight of sodium carbonate/quantity by weight of vanadium calculated as vanadium pentoxide) IS AT LEAST 1.1 AND DOES NOT EXCEED 4.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of 2-nitrodiphenylamine as a reversible indicator has been investigated in the titration of iron(II) with cerium(IV) sulphate, potassium dichromate, and sodium vanadate in sulphuric acid media.
