Abstract: Electrical automation technology is a technology that uses computer technology, information technology, and control principles to control and optimize the production process, so as to improve production efficiency. However, there are still some deficiencies in the research on the energy-saving effect of electrical automation technology. Based on the PLC frequency conversion technology, we have carried out experimental research on the pumping unit frequency conversion electrical automation energy-saving system. This paper first analyzes the necessity of constructing a new electrical automation experimental platform and then briefly describes the variable frequency control technology based on PLC controller and the working principle of variable frequency speed regulation. It illustrates the feasibility of variable frequency speed regulation to save energy and conducts mathematical modeling analysis on the electrical automatic pumping unit. In this paper, the fuzzy PID algorithm is selected to control the motor by frequency conversion and speed regulation, and the motor model is optimized, so that the motor angular frequency parameter can achieve the best effect. At the end of this paper, the experimental analysis of the frequency conversion electrical automation energy-saving system of the pumping unit is carried out. The experimental results of this paper show that the established model meets the requirements, and the measurement results show that the frequency of the motor load changes. Coupled with fuzzy PID adjustment, it gradually stabilizes the frequency, and the measurement error is within 3%. It meets the preexperiment requirements. When fuzzy PID control is added in the experiment, the motor speed fluctuation is small, and the error value is small. The results show that the frequency conversion technology based on PLC is an effective technology for the energy saving of the frequency conversion electrical automation of the pumping unit.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and non-transitory computer readable recording medium to control a pump system may include a memory storing instructions and a processor that executes the instructions to obtain initial motor data of a motor controlled by a variable frequency drive (VFD) and determine a normal speed baseline of the motor based on the obtained initial motor data. The processor may also obtain current motor data of the motor, detect a pump-off event of the pump system when the current motor data deviates from the normal speed baseline, and control the VFD in response to the detected pump off event.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated fan drive system for a cooling tower.SOLUTION: An integrated fan drive system for a cooling tower is composed of a high-torque low-speed permanent magnet motor 52 having a rotatable shaft 56, a fan 27 composed of a hub 28 directly connected to the rotatable shaft, and a plurality of fan blades 30 attached to the hub, and a variable frequency drive device 50 in electrical signal communication with the permanent magnet motor to control the rotational speed of the permanent magnet motor. The high-torque permanent magnet motor is configured by only two bearings in operative association with the shaft. The variable frequency drive device has a variable frequency controller having an input for receiving AC power and an output for providing electrical signals that control the operational speed of high-torque and the permanent magnet motor. The variable frequency drive device also includes a user interface in electronic data signal communication with the variable frequency controller to allow a user to input motor speed control data.

TL;DR: In this paper, the concept of vibration control in order to obtain smooth running by soft water pump and cooling tower pump is presented. But considering the Economical and Environmental factors, it is advisable to modify the existing system rather than replacing it with new one.
Abstract: A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) regulates the speed of a 3-phase AC electric motor by controlling the frequency and voltage of the power it delivers to the motor. Today, these devices (also known as Adjustable Speed Drives or Variable Speed Drives) are becoming prevalent in a wide range of applications throughout industry, from motion control applications to Cooling Towers, from water treatment facilities to machining areas, and many others. Considering the Economical and Environmental factors, it is advisable to modify the existing system rather than replacing it with new one. This project exercises this concept of vibration control in order to obtain smooth running by soft water pump and cooling tower pump.
