TL;DR: Stinging wasp (Vespoidea) faunal diversity in the Atlantic Rain Forest is examined, which is one of the most diverse and threatened ecosystems in the World.
Abstract: Vespoidea are the most functionally diverse superfamily of Hymenoptera. Ecological studies involving this family are primarily based on eusocial groups, including ants and social paper wasps. In the present study, we examine stinging wasp (Vespoidea) faunal diversity in the Atlantic Rain Forest, which is one of the most diverse and threatened ecosystems in the World. Three conservation areas were sampled employing a standardized sample protocol. Families and functional groups of Vespoidea were collected in each area, with the exception ants (Formicidae), and analyzed using diversity analyses, to generate taxonomic diversity and distinctness indices. Results indicated Pompilidae was the most diverse family, and the idiobiont parasitoid type was the most diverse functional group in the three study areas. Nucleo Picinguaba of the Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar was taxonomically and functionally the most diverse and species rich area. Parque Estadual Intervales showed the highest number of dominant species and diversity of koinobiont parasitoids, while the Rebio Sooretama exhibited a decrease in several diversity parameters.

TL;DR: A list is presented of all records known to the author, both from literature and from recent collecting, of aculeate wasps and bees from Mallorca, which comprises 375 species.
Abstract: A list is presented of all records known to the author, both from literature and from recent collecting, of aculeate wasps and bees from Mallorca. The list comprises 375 species, of which 200 are wasps and 175 are bees. There is an Appendix giving a list of known records from Ibiza and Menorca. Due to its separation from mainland Spain for millions of years, Mallorca has seven endemic species or subspecies. There are a further nine species or subspecies occurring on Mallorca that are endemic to the Balearic Islands. Three species new to science were discovered in 2010. The only previous published lists for the island are those of Edward Saunders in 1901 and 1904.

Abstract: Vespidae is a cosmopolitan family of order Hymenoptera (Insecta) popularly called as wasps, members of which are predominantly found in tropical regions of the World, with more than 5000 species worldwide. The present studies recorded 26 species belonging to 15 genera, 3 subfamilies of Vespidae from Rajasthan. Out of which, the 6 species of Vespidae are new records from Rajasthan state.
