TL;DR: In this paper, the intercalation behavior of monmorillonite (MMT) was investigated as a function of vinyl acetate content and molecular weight of EVA and types of substituted alkyl ammonium of MMT.
Abstract: Ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) and monmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites have been investigated as a function of vinyl acetate content and molecular weight of EVA and types of substituted alkyl ammonium of MMT. It is found that vinyl acetate content and type of substituted alkyl ammonium are important factors for the intercalation behaviour of MMT in MMT/EVA nanocomposite. Maleic anhydride grafted high-density polyethylene was used as a compatibilizer to improve the intercalation behaviour of MMT. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy were used to characterize the intercalation/exfoliation behaviour, and mechanical properties were measured. © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry

TL;DR: In this article, a hot-melt composition comprising an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, an n-butyl acrylate copolymers, and a tackifying resin can be spread into a thin layer that has a limited open time.
Abstract: A hot-melt composition comprising an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, an ethylene/n-butyl acrylate copolymer, and a tackifying resin can be spread into a thin layer that has a limited open time of at least 5 seconds. The composition eventually crystallizes to form a creep-resistant bond.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of water and monomer-soluble impurities on the kinetics of emulsion polymerization for Case I systems (e.g., vinyl acetate and vinyl choride) was investigated.
Abstract: The effect of water- and monomer-soluble impurities on the kinetics of emulsion polymerization for Case I systems (e.g., vinyl acetate and vinyl choride) was investigated. Model predictions on the effect of these impurities on polymer particle nucleation and growth rate are shown to be in satisfactory agreement with experimental results. The effect of monomer-soluble impurities is shown to be quite different from that observed in Case II emulsion polymerization systems.

TL;DR: Photo-crosslinkable, fumaric acid monoethyl ester-functionalized poly(trimethylene carbonate) oligomers were synthesized and copolymerized with N-vinyl pyrrolidone (NVP) and vinyl acetate (VAc) to form biodegradable polymer networks.
