TL;DR: In this article, a method to reconstruct high-resolution spatial distribution and temporal evolution of precipitation in the Forni Glacier area (Central Italian Alps), where an automatic weather station is present since 2005, is presented.
Abstract: Mountain environments are extremely influenced by climate change but are also often affected by the lack of long and high-quality meteorological data, especially in glaciated areas, which limits the ability to investigate the acting processes at local scale. For this reason, we checked a method to reconstruct high-resolution spatial distribution and temporal evolution of precipitation. The study area is centred on the Forni Glacier area (Central Italian Alps), where an automatic weather station is present since 2005. We set up a model based on monthly homogenised precipitation series and we spatialised climatologies and anomalies on a 30-arc-second-resolution DEM, using Local Weighted Linear Regression (LWLR) and Regression Kriging (RK) of precipitation versus elevation, in order to test the most suitable approach for this complex terrain area. The comparison shows that LWLR has a better reconstruction ability for winter while RK slightly prevails during summer. The results of precipitation spatialisation were compared with station observations and with data collected at the weather station on Forni Glacier, which were not used to calibrate the model. A very good agreement between observed and modelled precipitation records was pointed out for most station sites. The agreement is lower, but encouraging, for Forni Glacier station data.

TL;DR: In this article, a RES powered weather station is developed to monitor the weather parameters, which includes sensors for detecting temperature, humidity, raindrop, carbon monooxide, smoke, LPG in the environment, barometric pressure, altitude etc.
Abstract: Weather estimate, in reality continuous weather gauge is essential for our day by day life particularly in agribusiness. National weather data does not generally contain the precise information of each area rather it contains the information of closest climate station for a timeframe. The fundamental aim of this project is to develop a RES powered Weather Station which will help to monitor the weather parameters. Such a project contains sensors for detecting temperature, humidity, raindrop, carbon mono-oxide, smoke, LPG in the environment, barometric pressure, altitude etc. The information from the sensors are gathered by the Arduino. Arduino sends the sensors information in LCD display. Additionally, the device sends an SMS which contains weather information to the user with the assistance of a GSM module. At the end of the project the results have been compared between the national weather data and the actual reading. According to the results, the percentage of deviation for Temperature is 1%, Humidity is 5% and Barometric Pressure is 8%.

TL;DR: In this article, a weather control station receives from a communication network data packets transmitted wirelessly to the network by a mobile platform separated from the control station, and the data packets carry images captured by an image sensor aboard the mobile platform and show one or more weather conditions local to the mobile platforms.
Abstract: A weather control station receives from a communication network data packets transmitted wirelessly to the network by a mobile platform separated from the control station. The data packets carry images captured by an image sensor aboard the mobile platform and show one or more weather conditions local to the mobile platform. The control station recovers the images from the data packets and processes the recovered images according to one or more weather condition detection algorithms to detect the one or more weather conditions, respectively. The weather station reports the one or more detected weather conditions.

TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of real and modeled wind data with wind streak orientations as measured from remote-sensing images was made, and the results showed good agreement between wind streak orientation and reanalysis RDD (r = 078) and a moderate correlation was found between the wind streaks orientations and the weather station data (R = 047); a similar trend was revealed on a regional scale when the analysis was performed by continent, with r ranging from 0641 in North America to 0922 in Antarctica, and they are indeed indicative of the long-term prevailing
Abstract: Wind streak is a collective term for a variety of aeolian features that display distinctive albedo surface patterns Wind streaks have been used to map near-surface winds and to estimate atmospheric circulation patterns on Mars and Venus However, because wind streaks have been studied mostly on Mars and Venus, much of the knowledge regarding the mechanism and time-frame of their formation, and their relationship to the atmospheric circulation cannot be verified This study aims to validate previous studies' results by a comparison of real and modeled wind data with wind streak orientations as measured from remote-sensing images Orientations of Earth wind streaks were statistically correlated to Resultant Drift Direction (RDD) values calculated from reanalysis and wind data from 621 weather stations The results showed good agreement between wind streak orientations and reanalysis RDD (r = 078) A moderate correlation was found between the wind streak orientations and the weather station data (r = 047); a similar trend was revealed ; on a regional scale when the analysis was performed by continent, with r ranging from 0641 in North America to 0922 in Antarctica At sites where wind streak orientations did not correspond to the RDDs (ie, a difference of >45°), seasonal and diurnal variations in the wind flow were found to be responsible for deviation from the global pattern The study thus confirms that Earth wind streaks were formed by the present wind regime, and they are indeed indicative of the long-term prevailing wind direction on global and regional scales
