Abstract: This work describes use a PC to control home weather station and visualization measuring data via applications written in programming language C# with communications via USB or RS232. Weather station is capable of measure temperature up to five temperature sensors DS18B20, wind speed via measuring turbine with optical encoder, the intensity of illumination via light sensitive element and finally is able to detect an approaching thunderstorm by measuring atmospheric charge. The station also disposing eight galvanic separation switch outputs, whose function in the supplied software set to customer requirements. Visualization is done in the charts for each measured quantity and also in arranged the panel, depicting the actual situation.

Abstract: The invention discloses an automated weather station system with a fault self-diagnostic and self-recovery function, and belongs to the technical field of automated weather stations The automated weather station system with the fault self-diagnostic and self-recovery function comprises n weather stations and a remote control terminal, wherein n is a positive integer, and each weather station comprises a microcontroller, a collector and a communication module; the collector is externally connected with a power supply, and a comparator circuit is arranged inside the remote control terminal; when a certain weather station in the n weather stations is subjected to detection diagnosis, the data average value of (n-1) weather stations other than the detected weather station is used as a reference value; and when the difference of the weather data of the detected weather station and the reference value exceeds the preset deviation range, the fault of the collector of the weather station is diagnosed The automated weather station system provided by the invention can diagnose a fault source by self, shorten downtime, improve the work efficiency of the weather station, reduce data error, and enhance real-time detection accuracy and stability

Abstract: The East coast of Peninsular Malaysia receives a strong wind speed, heavy rain and high humidity during the Northeast monsoon. The Malaysian Meteorological Department claims that the wind speed during the Northeast season could reach 55.56 km/h or more. This strong wind speed and heavy rain could contribute to the attenuation of radio signals. This paper investigated the relationship between wind speed (km/h) and radio signal strength, RSS (dBm). The statistical correlation was employed to identify the correlation value and strength between them. The wind speed and RSS were collected during wet and dry seasons at Kusza Observatory, while the Spectrum analyser was used for measuring RSS (dBm) and the weather station for wind speed (km/h). The result showed that the wet season has strong and significant correlation compared to the dry season. Frequencies of 382.5 MHz, 945 MHz and 2160 MHz with correlation values of r = -0.583;-0.631 and -0:514, respectively, showed strong, negative and significant correlations with wind speed in the wet season. As for the dry season, only a frequency of 382.5 MHz showed a strong, positive and significant correlation with r = 0.555, while small and medium for others. This finding is useful to a radio astronomer to help determine the best period for radio astronomy observation with the lowest interference considering the weather in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Besides, this finding benefits a spectrum of users involved in mobile telecommunication, wireless internet, radio TV transmission and satellite broadcasting.

The minitype portable movable shipborne weather station can be assembled and disassembled easily, can be carried conveniently, can be far away from a ship body after being assembled, can send the field condition collecting data to the central station of a shore station in a GPRS communication way, thus realizing the real-time monitoring on navigational weather data.
