TL;DR: A system for searching and reporting an incidence of at least one trademark, tradename, celebrity name, and/or famous name on the Internet, which includes a computer system having a connection to the Internet and a software program executing on the computer system, is described in this article.
Abstract: A system for searching and reporting an incidence of at least one trademark, tradename, celebrity name, and/or famous name on the Internet, which includes a computer system having a connection to the Internet, and a software program executing on the computer system. The software program is adapted to receive an input of at least one trademark, tradename, celebrity name, and famous name to be searched. The software program then creates a search string including at least one trademark, tradename, celebrity name, and famous name. The software program also receives a URL address of a Web page on the Internet to be searched. The software program accesses and searches the Web page for hits corresponding to the search string, and then provides the search results of identified hits within the Web page.

TL;DR: This paper presents a structural overview of Profile's three major components: a confederation of attribute-based name servers, a name space abstraction that unifies the name servers and a user interface that integrates the name space with existing naming systems.
Abstract: Profile is a descriptive naming service used to identify users and organizations. This paper presents a structural overview of Profile's three major components: a confederation of attribute-based name servers, a name space abstraction that unifies the name servers, and a user interface that integrates the name space with existing naming systems. Each name server is an independent authority that allows clients to describe users and organizations with a multiplicity of attributes; the name space abstraction is a client program that implements a discipline for searching a sequence of name servers; and the interface provides a tool with which users build customized commands. Experience with an implementation in the DARPA/NSF Internet demonstrates that Profile is a feasible and effective mechanism for naming users and organizations in a large internet.

TL;DR: In this article, a name service system includes a name server registering a name and corresponding network information received through a communication network when name registration is requested, and sending network information corresponding to the registered name when a name call is requested.
Abstract: Provided are a name service system and a method thereof. The name service system includes: a name service server registering a name and corresponding network information received through a communication network when name registration is requested, and sending network information corresponding to the registered name when a name call is requested; a plurality of monitoring devices collecting information, having respective names, requesting the name registration to the name service server through the communication network, registering the name and the network information corresponding to the name in the name service server, and sending changed network information to the name service server when the registered network information changes; and a plurality of remote control management devices connecting to the name service server through the communication network to request the name call, receiving network information corresponding to the name and sent from the name service server, connecting through the communication network using the network information, and thus receiving collected information. Accordingly, it is possible to communicate in a communication network environment using a dynamic Internet protocol (IP) address with only the name of a communication connection target and no additional information, so that a system making connection easy and effective can be constructed.

Abstract: A method is provided with which a name of a virtual port is not changed when virtualized storage is moved among switches. Information about a creator and a borrower of name information is added to a table including name information and address information of a virtual port of a name server managing the name information and the address information. The name information is provided to plural switches and managed. In addition, name information, which can be used commonly among name servers managing the name information and the address information is pooled in advance, and the name information of the virtual port is borrowed from there.

TL;DR: In this article, a method to generate name records by a service gateway includes: receiving a name service request including a name from a host, creating a name services request using the name, sending the name service requests to a named service server, receiving a response from the named server, the response including a service server name record with one or more service server names corresponding to the name.
Abstract: A method to generate name records by a service gateway includes: receiving a name service request including a name from a host; creating a name service request using the name; sending the name service request to a name service server; receiving a response from the name service server, the response including a service server name record with one or more service server name entries corresponding to the name; generating and storing service gateway name records using the name and the name entries; and sending a selected service gateway name record to the host as a response to the name service request. When a subsequent name service request including the name is received, the service gateway compares the name against the stored service gateway name records, and in response to finding a match, sending the given service gateway name record as a response to the subsequent name service request.
