TL;DR: In this article, a wireless in-building telecommunications system for voice and data communications is disclosed having at least one node (101) arranged for linking to the PSTN (151), and a multiplicity of user modules (103) (UM's) linked to the node via a shared RF communications path (107).
Abstract: A wireless in-building telecommunications system for voice and data communications is disclosed having at least one node (101) arranged for linking to the PSTN (151) and at least one digital information source (153, 155, 157, 159) multiplicity of user modules (103) (UM's) linked to the node via a shared RF communications path (107). Each UM is coupled to a voice telephone instrument (127) and to one or more data terminals (165). The UM's communicate with the node by exchanging fast packets via the common RF path (107). The node also includes a fast-packet-switched mechanism controlled by a bandwidth allocating scheme to prevent collisions of packets as they are transmitted between the various units (101, 103) (nodes and/or user modules) that may be accessing the RF path (107). Also disclosed is a method for allocating the required bandwidth to each of the users of the common communications path in a wireless in-building telephone system. The invention provides for the combination of both voice and data in a single switch using a common packet structure. It allows for the dynamic allocation of bandwidth based on system loading. This includes not only bandwidth within the voice or data areas of the frame, but also between the voice and data portions. It also synchronizes the transfer of the data and the allocation of bus bandwidth.

TL;DR: It is shown that convolutional coding with soft-decision Viterbi decoding can be a viable alternative to increasing the space diversity order even in the absence of interleaving if the effective diversity order is sufficiently large.
Abstract: Optimum baseband combining with coherent BPSK (binary phase-shift keying) or QPSK (quadrature phase-shift keying) is an attractive technique for wideband TDMA (time-division multiple-access) portable communication radio links in view of its ability not only to combat dispersive fading but also to cancel cochannel interference. The performance of such a scheme is investigated for data rates ranging from 1 to 20 Mb/s. It is shown that convolutional coding with soft-decision Viterbi decoding can be a viable alternative to increasing the space diversity order even in the absence of interleaving if the effective diversity order is sufficiently large. The radio link performance is evaluated for various combinations of transceiver and channel parameters. The cochannel interference level and the space diversity order are shown to affect the data rate beyond which QPSK is preferable to BPSK. >

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a scheme to improve the convenience at the time of the use by an end user by receiving and demodulating a data signal only sent from a wireless receiver having the registered ID code after the ID code transmitted from the wireless transmitter is registered and executing the remote control of a control object provided on a wireless transmitter side.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the convenience at the time of the use by an end user by receiving and demodulating a data signal only sent from a wireless receiver having the registered ID code after the ID code transmitted from a wireless transmitter is registered and executing the remote control of a control object provided on a wireless receiver side. CONSTITUTION:The ID code of the wireless transmitter A is automatically registered to a wireless receiver B side only by operating an operating switch 1a of a wireless transmitter A to be registered like the ordinary control. After the ID code of either of the wireless transmitter A is registered, and after the registration of the ID code of another wireless transmitter A is received during the prescribed time, the control mode is automatically shifted, only the transmission data of the wireless transmitter A having the registered ID code is decoded, and the corresponded control object is remote-controlled. Thus, at a user side, besides the setting of the ID code, the wireless transmission system without needing the setting operation of the registration mode and with an easy operation can be obtained.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose to arbitrarily connect a processor to each repeater in a wireless channel controller, and to miniaturize the processor by setting a time division exchange which simulates wireless channel setting.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To arbitrarily connect a processor to each repeater in a wireless channel controller, and to miniaturize the processor by setting a time division exchange which simulates wireless channel setting. CONSTITUTION:Each pseudo mobile station device 15 controls an outgoing call and an incoming call, confirms the connection of a channel, a controller 17 controls a time division exchange 13 to simulate the wireless channel setting and the pseudo mobile station device 15 to simulate the wireless line and to set a hand-off condition, thus functions are distributed, and further respective signals are digitized, time-divided, and multiplexed. Consequently by separating an A/D-D/A converter 11 and time-division multiplexing/demultiplexing circuit 12 from the other parts, and arranging them near a wireless channel controller 2 to be a device to be tested, the separated parts can be connected to the other parts by a single connecting cable. Thus the whole device can be miniaturized, and the connection to the wireless channel controller 2 can be simplified.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for wireless information transmission in which unoccupied transmission channels of radio services, for example television transmitters, are used, is proposed, which uses the channels of the radio services only while no transmission takes place.
Abstract: A method is proposed for wireless information transmission in which unoccupied transmission channels of radio services, for example television transmitters, are used. The method uses the channels of the radio services only while no transmission takes place. If transmission is started up, this is identified and the channel concerned is no longer used for radio transmission. Through band spreading, the transmission channel can be used for a large number of radio units simultaneously without them interfering with one another.

Abstract: Digital systems employing antenna diversity and noncoherent binary frequency-shift-keying modulation operating through an indoor radio multipath Rayleigh fading channel are investigated theoretically. The diversity technique of equal gain combining is considered. The frequency-hopping rate is assumed to be equal to the bit rate. Results show that the FFH systems are better able to counteract multipath fading than direct sequence systems, which, however, perform better in the presence of multiaccess interference, provided that diversity is used. >
