TL;DR: Lee et al. as discussed by the authors classified latent profiles according to job quality indices for South Korean female employees and examined the characteristics of each profile and how they affect work-life balance, and compared them using the Bolck-Croon-Hagenaars method.
Abstract: Women's participation in society has been increasing; however, they often remain overloaded with housework, and this gender role difference can hinder their work-life balance in Korea. Therefore, this study classified latent profiles according to job quality indices for South Korean female employees and examined the characteristics of each profile and how they affect work-life balance. This study was a secondary analysis of data collected through the fifth Korean Working Conditions Survey in South Korea. The Bayesian information criterion, entropy, and the Lo-Mendell-Rubin adjusted likelihood ratio test were used to determine the number of latent profiles. Chi-square tests were conducted to understand the characteristics of each profile. Comparisons between work-life balance and the latent profiles were made using the Bolck-Croon-Hagenaars method. Female employees in South Korea were classified into five profiles: "high-flying," "smooth," "footloose," "strict," and "manual." The "footloose" profile showed the most positive work-life balance, and the "manual" profile had the highest level of work-family conflict. Therefore, policies and social supports should be created with the aim of improving the implementation of current strategies promoting work-life balance to better fit each working condition.

TL;DR: In this article, women appear to be more resilient than men to COVID-19 in terms of health outcomes, but that is not the case when it comes to the economic and social fallout.
Abstract: "While women appear to be more resilient than men to COVID-19 in terms of health outcomes, that is not the case when it comes to the economic and social fallout. Measures taken by governments to control the spread of the virus are exacerbating gender divides in unemployment, domestic labour and financial security, all to the disadvantage of women. Meanwhile, work–life conflict is escalating as people work from home, with mothers of small children often bearing the brunt of the impact."

TL;DR: Work border theory as mentioned in this paper is based on the holistic approach and addresses the issue of "crossing borders" between domains of work and life, and suggests that all stakeholders should make active partners in creating the holistic model of work-life balance.
Abstract: IntroductionGlobal labor market is becoming highly competitive day by day and companies are outsourcing to reduce the labor costs. The consequence being, the employee feels impelled to put in longer hours to achieve and possibly exceed the employers' expectations in order to secure their job. It puts a lot of pressure on individuals' that leads to the problem of work life conflict. Apart from the work there, there are some family related factors which also create imbalance between work and life. The various other factors contributing to this situation are single parent households, dual earning parents; parents working at different locations, etc. All these are responsible in creating role conflict, which ultimately contributes to imbalance between work and life.Globalization also played a significance role in bringing about the vast changes in the lives of Indian Women. Economic globalization provided tremendous opportunities for women and girls to have greater access to productive resources. Prospects of higher and quality education have become feasible for those women who can afford them, economically and socially. Due to the effect of globalization now there are ample of opportunities available for qualified women for their career advancement. Due to this changing attitude towards women especially in urban areas, women are enjoying more empowerment as well as good exposure at the international level. These developments proved very supportive in bringing about major changes in the economic, social and political lives of women. Thus globalization has given great scope to the women to carve new roles and ability to build up new positive identities outside their domestic chores. As woman succeeded in the career, work-life balance becomes an important issue for them. Today men and women equally share the responsibility of earning for the betterment of their family life. But in most of the cases working women are suffering from the problem of work life conflict because women always had to struggle to satisfy the demand of their job as well as their commitment towards home. They need to manage the daily requirements of their family as one side and the multiple schedules, meetings, business requirements and other routine responsibilities at work on the another side . Some time when they become unable to set their priorities they have to face the problem of imbalance between work and life.Theoretical Frame work of Work-Life Balance:Work-life balance is important for an individual's psychological well-being, high self-esteem, satisfaction, and overall sense of harmony in life. However, there is a lack of consensus on how work- life balance should be actually conceptualized. Different theories were given by different researchers to highlight the various aspects of Work-Life Balance.Integration Theory is based on the holistic approach. According to this theory for better Work-Life Balance there should be healthy system of flexible and permeable boundaries between work life, family life and community life domains. The theory emphasized on contemporary understandings of the system of work life and suggests that all the stake holders should make active partners in creation of the holistic model of Work-Life Balance.According to Work Border Theory, every person has some defined role for the domain of work and life. These domains are separated by borders that may be physical, temporal, or psychological. The theory addresses the issue of "crossing borders" between domains of work and life. The flexibility and permeability of the boundaries between people's work and family affect the level of integration, the ease of transitions, and the level of conflict between these domains. Boundaries those are flexible and permeable facilitate integration between work and home domains, but increases the possibilities of work family conflicts. On the other hand when these domains are segmented integration between the domains become difficult, the chances of work family conflicts reduces. …
