TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined psychological detachment and perceived organizational support as predictors of work-life balance using a cross-sectional design, and found that psychological detachment from work predicted both personal life interference with work and work personal life enhancement.
Abstract: As work-life balance increasingly becomes crucial for employee wellbeing, research light is also being beamed on possible correlates and predictors of the construct. Using a cross-sectional design, this study examined psychological detachment and perceived organizational support as predictors of work-life balance. Two hundred and fifty healthcare workers selected through convenience sampling from two hospitals in Enugu State Nigeria participated in the study. Psychological Detachment Scale, Perceived Organizational Support Scale and Work-life Balance Scale were used for data collection. Work life balance was conceptualized as having three dimensions-work interference with personal life, personal life interference with work and work/personal life enhancement. Data was analysed using multiple regression. Psychological detachment from work predicted both personal life interference with work and work personal life enhancement. It was found that perceived organizational support did not predict any of the work-life balance dimensions. It was suggested that the link between organizational support and work-life balance among health workers needs further investigation.

Abstract: Because of the enormous beneficial influence that employee retention has on work-related outcomes, it has been the focus of much research for a long time and especially in the field of International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs). The importance of highlighting elements that may enhance the beneficial effect of Workplace Fun (WF) and Work-Life Balance (WLB) in increasing employee retention (ER). So this research examines the influence of worklife balance and workplace fun on employee retention, as well as the mediating effect of Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and Perceived Coworker Support (PCS) on employee retention. The obtained data were analyzed using a conceptual model. An online survey was used to collect the information. More than 358 surveys and analyses have been conducted utilizing the AMOS. In terms of employee retention, the study found a favorable correlation between workplace fun and work-life balance. The association between workplace fun, work-life balance, and employee retention was mediated by supervisor and coworker support. To assist firms to recognize the value of supervisor support in minimizing bad work outcomes for employees, these findings will be useful.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the factors affecting the work-life balance of secondary school teachers in Hong Kong and found that high support from co-workers, low workload and low level of work-family conflict were positively correlated with high levels of worklife balance.
Abstract: Work–life imbalance is a severe problem amongst most secondary school teachers in Hong Kong due to heavy workloads and long working hours. This paper examines the factors affecting the work–life balance of secondary school teachers in Hong Kong. An online questionnaire survey was conducted and 150 valid responses were received. In factor analysis, the correlations between work–life balance and five determinants, namely, time off for personal life, support from supervisor, support from co-workers, workload and work–family conflict, were assessed. High support from co-workers, low workload and low level of work–family conflict were positively correlated with high levels of work–life balance. The findings of this study could serve as a reference for the Education Bureau and principals to formulate policies to help the teachers cope with their workload problems. The implications for practitioners are provided to enhance work–life balance and wellness amongst teachers.
