Abstract: This paper studies the WLB satisfaction of female police personnel who work at irregular hours in the midst of their domestic caring responsibilities by focusing on their perceptions of work responsibilities, their domestic caring responsibilities and their perception of work-life balance satisfaction. It was based on the structured survey through a questionnaire, with women police who work in Hyderabad police stations. The Findings suggest a need for change both in organizational and work policies for female police in Hyderabad.

Abstract: Introduction"Our life is a mixture of different roles. Most of us are doing the best we can to find whatever the right balance is... For me, that balance is family, work and service", said Hillary Clinton.Work life balance is a appropriate prioritization between professional life and personal life. In today's speedy paced life a person desires to work harder than ever before in order to congregate the arising requirements of organizations and society. Nevertheless in response to such organizational and societal needs person often neglects the other significant factor that is the personal life. These days with increased level of competition and globalization, the demand for work has exaggerated and its reflection is visible in the attitude of the individuals also. Every individual has a life at work and at home and also a life in which he has a breathing space for leisure. Our profession nowadays has become a vital part of our lives. The escalating responsibilities on the personal frontage with the everyday changing technology which keeps work life integrated with personal life also creates stress in personal and professional life.The imbalance in the work life of a women employee has become a major deal of concern because of outsized number of issues related to women employee wellbeing, boredom at work place moribund level of productivity and competence at the employee level had started budding. Such imbalance has a negative effect on the personal life of working women in software industry. There is a huge prospect for professionals in software industry as well as service sectors. As a result women's venture and job has also changed over the years. Today women are performing a dual role of a salary earner and of a homemaker. Work life balance has now become a vulnerable topic because it offers apparent benefits to organizations and its success Thus work-life balance is one of the key concerns for the software industries and management practitioners.Review of LiteratureBala Subramania et al23 dealt with the balance between the work and life among the employees and have analyzed the reasons for work stress in the company so that bulk work can be shared and their working hours will be reduced. They also suggested that in order to get a clear understanding about the goals and objectives of the employees, people should take the necessaiy actions to reduce the level of depression in work and also the employees should get enough time to relax them in their work and personal life.When women choose to pursue executive careers and start families, they run the risk of having neither. There are number of obstacles to career advancement documented earlier, many factors that suppress ambitious women's ability to marry and have children have been highlighted in the study, some of those include the demands of ambitious careers which leave little time to nurture intimate relationships, the fact that most successful men are not interested in acquiring an ambitious peer as a partner and the difficulties of bearing children later in life despite media sensations.Richard Welford through his study work life balance in Hong Kong quotes that there is a distressingly high percentage of respondents who feel that work is the cause of health problems, specifically stress and lack of exercise. Health issues are expected to lead to lesser output and efficiency of workers.Moreover work life balance refers to how people manage their paid work with life's other responsibilities. De Bruin and Dupuis6 opined that work-life balance was initially conceived in terms of work family conflict. The significance of administrating an employee's WLB has amplified markedly over the past two decades.Shiva22 conducted a study on challenges faced by working women and researched that the problems are faced by both the lower level and higher level employees. Abstract: This research proposes to find out the influence of availability of career information on career satisfaction of career woman in Jakarta, Participants in this study are 199 women, consist of lecturers, doctors, police women, bank employees, etc. Work-life balance, awareness of organizational plans for self, and match between individual and organizational career plans are used as mediating variables on the impact of availability of career information toward career satisfaction. Research finding shows that work-life balance and awareness of organizational plans have no significant effects as mediating variables on the impact of the availability of career information toward career satisfaction. Meanwhile, the match between individual and organizational career plans have a significant effect as a weak mediating variable. Work-life balance issues seem not to be a concern informing career satisfaction among career women in Indonesia.

Abstract: Working from home has grown in popularity over the past few years and flexible working in general has been hailed as a way to combat increasing dissatisfaction with work life balance. This research is concerned with those who are primarily office based workers but work from home a minority of the time. This is usually one or two days a week maximum but could be less often. The effect of working from home on the participants work life balance is the focus of this research. Recurrent themes in previous research on this topic were identified and summarised in the literature review. Based on these themes objectives were written. Along with the main objective there were four sub objectives to be answered. These related to the work environment at home, the positives and negatives of working from home, the impact of working from home on career and relationships with management and the effect of working from home on life outside work. A qualitative approach to this research was taken. Ten participants were interviewed. The participants worked at six different companies across various industries and were at different levels of their careers. It was found that all participants were very happy with their working from home arrangement and often it did contribute positively to their work life balance. However this mode of working was not without its negatives which were also expressed by participants. Some of these negative effects resulted in work infringing on home life leading to further dissatisfaction with work life balance. There were more effects on life outside of work from this type of working than there was on career progression and relationships with management according to these findings. The research findings suggest new directions for future research in the area of working from home. Implications for employers are identified in the conclusion along with recommendations for future research. The findings of this research are not generalisable across other industries or companies.
