TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relationship between work related factors towards the work life balance at Perbadanan Putrajaya and found that work-life balance have been implemented well in this organisation.
Abstract: In this recent years, work life ba1ance issues and employee's satisfaction have become a prominent concern in the society and emphasis on work-life balance has emerged due to the change in demographic requirement of workforce. The main objective of this study is to examine the relationship between work related factors towards the work life balance at Perbadanan Putrajaya. Data was collected from 204 of respondents with several of departments in this organisation. The findings indicated that work life balance have been implemented well in this organisation. The work related factors such as work overload, role of conflict showed significant support for employee's work life balance while role of ambiguity and work to family conflict showed and inverse relationship with the employee ' s work life balance. This study has contributed theoretically and methodologically. especially in identifying the relationship between work domains towards work life balance that have a greater impact on employee's satisfaction. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the moderating role of the work-home balance skill and the workhome accommodation strategies on the relationship between the emotions at workhome interface and satisfactions and mental health among Romanian workers.
Abstract: In this research we investigated the moderating role of the work-home balance skill and the work-home accommodation strategies on the relationship between the emotions at work-home interface and satisfactions and mental health among Romanian workers. We firstly hypothesized that, in the relationship between the experience of work-home interface’s negative emotions and the outcomes referring to satisfaction and health, the skill in work-home balance and the work-home accommodation strategies have an opposed function. We assumed the former might act to enhance satisfaction and inhibit illness. Secondly, we hypothesized that this skill in work-home balance will probably moderate the negative effect of prolonged working hours on the satisfaction with workhome balance. We tested the hypotheses through structural equation modeling and the ANOVA method in a representative sample of 277 Romanian workers (age range 21-65). The results supported both hypotheses. We conclude that it is important that people should use the work-home accommodation strategies to the minimum and accumulate the work-home balance skills.

TL;DR: This study is an attempt to trace the challenges faced by nurses and their impact on their work life balance and seeks remedies to overcome the same.
Abstract: Nurses are the key healthcare providers and share primary responsibilities of patient care. The nursing profession is one profession which requires a lot of commitment, and the kind of challenges faced by the nurses is quite different from any other job. The nurses face challenges like working overtime, keeping themselves fit and healthy for the treatment of the patients, treatment of terminally ill patients, the risk of transfer of any contagious disease from patients, etc. The challenges faced by them can impact their overall well-being and their work life balance too. It hence becomes imperative on the part of the nurses and even the hospital management to measure the incidence of these challenges on the work-life balance of the nurses and also try to measure their effectiveness in their work. Just measuring the impact would not be enough but seeking remedies to overcome the same is also urgent since work-life balance is an important aspect of any individual and the organization too. In hospitals necessary measures should be taken on working conditions, organizational climate and work stress. So this study is an attempt to trace the challenges faced by nurses and their impact on their work life balance.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an analysis regarding the intergenerational transmission of educational values and occupational preferences among the Romanian population, based on several survey data sources, and present a literature review regarding the effects of gendered inter-generational cultural transmission on educational preferences and career choices.
Abstract: Research in the field shows that, in industrialized countries, men and women tend to work in different types of occupations or sectors of economic activity, for which reason the scientific community developed the term of occupational gender segregation. This phenomenon persisted over the years despite the changes in legislation promoting gender equality. Literature suggests that parents, by the way they raise their children, transmit their cultural values regarding educational achievement and professional career. This transmission of knowledge, skills, preferences and interests from parents to children has been conceptualized by Bourdieu (1977) as cultural capital. In more general terms, this is called parental cultural transmission, a process by which information is passed from individual to individual via social learning mechanisms, which means that the way parents educate their children has a large effect on their children’s preferences and beliefs, on how their children will choose to behave as adults in society. But not all cultural traits are equally likely to be preserved and passed from parents to children, for which reason intergenerational cultural transmission is considered a fundamental component of cultural evolution (Mesoudi & Whiten, 2008). In addition to the literature review regarding the effects of gendered intergenerational cultural transmission on educational preferences and career choices, this article also presents an analysis regarding the intergenerational transmission of educational values and occupational preferences among the Romanian population, based on several survey data sources. This paper is supported by the Sectorial Operational Programme Human Resources Development (SOP HRD), financed from the European Social Fund and by the Romanian Government under the contract number SOP HRD/159/1.5/S/136077.
