TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed a literature review with 38 articles and a meta-analysis with 37 articles and found that ICT-assisted after-hours work was positively related to work-family/life enrichment (r = 0.335, p < 0.001; 95% CI [0.290, 0.406]).
Abstract: The phenomenon of information and communication technology (ICT)-assisted after-hours work has led to rising academic interest in examining its impact on workers’ lives. ICT-assisted after-hours work may intrude on the home domain and contribute to higher work–family/life conflict, lower work–family/life balance, or higher work–family/life enrichment (the last one owing to the acquisition of competencies transferable to the home domain). Additionally, owing to cultural and societal differences in gender roles, the relationships between ICT-assisted after-hours work and work–family/life management variables may differ between female and male workers. To analyze the current empirical findings, this study performed a literature review with 38 articles and a meta-analysis with 37 articles. Our findings showed that ICT-assisted after-hours work was positively related to work–family/life enrichment (r = 0.335, p < 0.001; 95% CI [0.290, 0.406]), but also to work–family/life conflict (r = 0.335, p < 0.001; 95% CI [0.290, 0.406]). However, neither gender nor pre−/post-COVID significantly affect the relationship between ICT-assisted after-hours work and work–family/life conflict. Finally, future research and implications are discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors study the factors of work-life balance and work engagement by mediating job crafting for hotel employees in Surabaya, and provide empirical evidence related to the direct effect of worklife balance on work engagement, and the indirect effect of using job crafting mediation on hotel employees.
Abstract: Background - Competition between companies is very competitive to be the best organization must manage human resources and pay serious attention to the behavior, attitudes, and psychological state of employees. The company is expected to only employ competent human resources with a positive work attitude. However, the work-life balance of employees in hotels has not been felt evenly by hotel employees in Surabaya. Therefore, it is necessary to study the factors of work-life balance and work engagement by mediating job crafting for hotel employees in Surabaya. Design/method/approach - Quantitative research that is explanatory research is used in this study. A total of 152 hotel employees in Surabaya were used as samples using the purposive sampling technique. The data that has been collected and tabulated is then analyzed using the PLS program. Findings - This study provides evidence that work-life balance has a significant effect on job crafting, work-life balance does not affect work engagement. After that, job crafting influences work engagement. Furthermore, job crafting has a fully mediating role in work-life balance and work engagement. Conclusion - Work life balance can improve work engagement. job crafting is able to mediate between work life balance and work engagement of hotel employees in Surabaya. work life balance allows employees to build a balance between work and family roles. Research Implications - Hospitality management needs to increase work engagement which is much needed for employees in completing their job responsibilities to be better and give their best contribution in achieving organizational goals. Paying attention to the work-life balance of employees between work and family makes employees happy so they are motivated to give their best performance in providing services to hotel guests satisfactorily. Provide support by facilitating employee job crafting to modify the way of working according to the needs of the job. Research Limitations - This research is not free from limitations. TL;DR: Bertolini and Poggio as discussed by the authors describe and discuss the main peculiarities of undertaking research on work-life balance (WLB), and identify some of the main recurrences, criticalities and potentialities in approaches to research on WLB with particular regard to the most recent developments (over the last 10 to 15 years or so).
Abstract: The chapter aims to describe and discuss the main peculiarities of undertaking research on work-life balance (WLB). It tries to identify some of the main recurrences, criticalities and potentialities in approaches to research on WLB with particular regard to the most recent developments (over the last 10 to 15 years or so). The authors firstly illustrate the main research designs and empirical methods used in work-life balance research and the samples involved;they then present the main innovation arising from studies and reflections presented in the chapters of this edited volume and from wider literature on WLB;finally, they reflect on the consequences and challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic may present in terms of doing research on work-life balance and approaches to fieldwork. © Sonia Bertolini and Barbara Poggio 2022.

TL;DR: In this article, the status of QWL among the university teachers and explores various dimensions that influence their work life, including growth and development, pay and recognition, work life balance, and social integration.
Abstract: The present paper examines the status of QWL among the university teachers and explores various dimensions that influence their work life. Data for the study was collected from full-time teachers working in selected universities in Northern India. The study reports teachers to be moderately satisfied with the QWL in their universities and has identified the factors that influence the way employees perceive their QWL. The most important predictors of QWL of university teachers were identified to be growth and development, pay and recognition, work life balance followed by social integration. Among the demographic variables, age and position were found to be significantly affecting QWL. The results of the study will facilitate the institutions to conceptualise strategies that focus on enhancing the QWL of their employees, to ensure their long-term competitive advantage. The results also suggest that teachers with favourable QWL have a propensity to maintain long-term affiliation with their universities.
