TL;DR: In this article, a kinetic study of the chemiluminescence in alkaline solutions of several xanthene dyes with hydrogen peroxide was carried out in the hope of gaining some insight into the mechanism of the luminescent reaction.
Abstract: A kinetic study of the chemiluminescence in alkaline solutions of several xanthene dyes with hydrogen peroxide was carried out in the hope of gaining some insight into the mechanism of the luminescent reaction. When the concentrations of sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide were kept constant, the decay curve of the luminescence was represented by It=Aexp(−at), where It is the light intensity at time t ; a is equal to the rate constant of the decomposition of the dye (first order with respect to the dye concentration) and A is a parameter proportional to the initial dye concentration. The lifetime of the luminescent reaction was prolonged by the addition of such organic solvents as alcohol and dioxane; the a value decreased, while the A value remained unchanged. Both the a value and the A value increased with the elevation of the reaction temperature.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe drugs containing compounds of xanthene dyes or derivatives thereof (including dimers) and inducing an ultrasonic action of lowering the threshold of acoustic strength causing acoustic cavitation.
Abstract: Drugs containing compounds of xanthene dyes or derivatives thereof (including dimers) having xanthene ring(s) and inducing an ultrasonic action of lowering the threshold of acoustic strength causing acoustic cavitation, wherein any of R1 to R8 bonded to carbon atoms of the xanthene dye skeleton is a functional group capable of chemically binding to a halogeno, thiol or amino group (selected from among halogenated acetamide, maleimide, aziridine, isothiocyanate, succinimide and sulfonyl chloride). Because of being able to lower the threshold, these drugs make it possible to safely treat benign or malignant tumors or stones by the irradiation with ultrasonic waves of a low acoustic strenght.

TL;DR: A comprehensive photophysical study of these two fluorescent anilines confirms the effectiveness of the heteroatom-substitution approach to yield dramatic red-shifts in absorption and fluorescence maxima of the xanthene scaffold and reveals its adverse effect on the hydrolytic stability of the Si-pyronin, especially at physiological pH.

TL;DR: In this paper, the photochemical evolution of Cr v, Cr III, polymer radical and dye radical in these systems has been monitored and a suitable xanthene dye photosensitized mechanism is proposed.
Abstract: Dichromated poly(vinyl alcohol)-xanthene dye (DCPVA-XD) systems have been employed as real-time holographic recording materials. Holographic performance of the undeveloped and developed dichromated poly(vinyl alcohol) (DCPVA) films with three different xanthene dyes (XD) namely fluorescein (Fl), eosin Y (EY) and rose bengal (RB) are evaluated through diffraction efficiency profiles. In addition, a systematic electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopic investigation was also performed on these systems to study the mechanism of holographic recording and observe the influence of XD in the photoprocesses. The photochemical evolution of Cr v, Cr III, polymer radical and dye radical in these systems has been monitored and a suitable xanthene dye photosensitized mechanism is proposed.
