TL;DR: In this article, a salt comprising, as cation, at least one cationic cyanine compound, and, as anion, anionic xanthene compound, as well as its use in color filters, e.g. for displays, was described.
Abstract: Disclosed are a salt comprising, as cation, at least one cationic cyanine compound, and, as anion, at least one anionic xanthene compound, as well as its use in color filters, e.g. for displays, and its preparation process. The salt of the present invention provides improved characteristics, especially in terms of a thermal stability and/or brightness.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a method to obtain the dye which shows a magenta color of high color tone when dissolved in water and improved in solubility, storage stability and light resistance by chloro-sulfonating a xanthene dye and bonding the product of chlorosulfonation with polyallylamine.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the dye which shows a magenta color of high color tone when dissolved in water and is improved in solubility, storage stability and light resistance by chloro-sulfonating a xanthene dye and bonding the product of chloro-sulfonation with polyallylamine. CONSTITUTION:Acid Red of formula I is reacted with thionyl chloride in dimethylformamide to obtain a brown product of formula II. This product is reacted with a polyallylamine of formula III to obtain a polymeric dye comprising xanthene structural units of formula IV [wherein x is -(CH3)p- or -(CH3)p- CO-; R to R are each H or (un)substituted 1-4C alkyl; X and X are each sulfo or sulfonate; Y is carboxyl or carboxylate; k is 0-2; l+m=0-2; n is 20-300; and p is 0-5, provided that k and l are numbers which must not be 0 simultaneously].

TL;DR: In this paper, a tentative mechanism has been proposed for photocatalytic degradation of xanthene dyes using anthracene semiconductor immobilized on polyethylene films, where the effect of various parameters like pH, concentration of dyes, amount of semiconductor and light intensity have been studied on the rate of reaction.
Abstract: Photocatalytic degradation of eosin and erythrosin-B (xanthene dyes) has been carried out using anthracene semiconductor immobilized on polyethylene films. Effect of various parameters like pH, concentration of dyes, amount of semiconductor and light intensity have been studied on the rate of reaction. Various control experiments were carried out which indicated that semiconductor anthracene played a key role in photocatalytic degradation of dyes. A suitable tentative mechanism has been proposed for photocatalytic degradation of dyes. KEY WORDS: Photocatalytic, Degradation, Xanthene dyes, Immobilized anthracene Bull. Chem. Soc. TL;DR: In this paper, three polyether compounds (1-3) with more than two fluorescent moieties in the both terminals were synthesized, and their complexation properties with Tb3+ were discussed.
Abstract: Three polyether compounds (1-3) which have more than two fluorescent moieties in the both terminals were synthesized, and their complexation properties with Tb3+ were discussed. After formation of complex with Tb3+, sharp fluorescence lines were observed at visible region due to intramolecular energy transfer from xanthene chromophore to bound Tb3+. The correlation between energy transfer efficiency and ligand structure for three analogous compounds were investigated.
