TL;DR: A cost-effective and convenient procedure for the synthesis of silica-supported 1-(2-sulfooxy)ethyl)1H-pyridine-1-ium-chloride SiO2/[SEP]Cl as a recoverable heterogeneous and Bronsted acid catalyst is described in this article.
Abstract: A cost-effective and convenient procedure for the synthesis of silica-supported 1-(2-sulfooxy)ethyl)1H-pyridine-1-ium-chloride SiO2/[SEP]Cl as a recoverable heterogeneous and Bronsted acid catalyst is described, and was used for the one-pot synthesis of aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes under solvent- and metal-free conditions at 110 °C in short reaction time with a yield of up to 95%. The present method offers several advantages such as simplicity in operation, ease of preparation and recycling of Bronsted acidic ionic liquid (BAIL), solvent-free reaction conditions, and no hazardous organic solvents are used in the entire procedure including workup and purification.

24 Apr 1979TL;DR: In this article, a process for preparing aralkyl derivatives of xanthene dyes was described, where the xanthenes dye is initially reacted with a strong base such as an alkali metal hydroxide to form a salt of the dye which is then reacted with an aralky compound to form the aralklyated xanthene dye.
Abstract: There is described a process for preparing aralkyl derivatives of xanthene dyes wherein and now abandoned the xanthene dye is initially reacted with a strong base such as an alkali metal hydroxide to form a salt of the dye which is then reacted with an aralkyl compound to form the aralkylated xanthene dye.

TL;DR: In this article, a simple, green and multi component, one pot synthesis of 14-Aryl-14H-dibenzo[a, j]xanthene derivatives by condensation of aryl aldehydes with 2-naphthol using magnetically separable and recyclable heterogeneous catalyst nano nickel cobalt ferrite (Ni0.5Co 0.5Fe2O4), has been described.
Abstract: A simple, green and multi component, one pot synthesis of 14-Aryl-14H-dibenzo[a, j]xanthene derivatives by condensation of aryl aldehydes with 2-naphthol using magnetically separable and recyclable heterogeneous catalyst nano nickel cobalt ferrite (Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4), has been described. In addition, a one-pot three component condensation of aryl aldehydes, 2-naphthol and dimedone has been developed to furnish 12-Aryl-8, 9, 10, 12-tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-one derivatives in good to excellent yields under the same reaction conditions. The main advantage of this method is the nano catalyst can be reused up to five reaction cycles without losing the catalytic activity.
