TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of amylose complexes with rose bengal (RB), erythrosine B (ER), and phenolphthalein (PP) in the presence of the cationic detergent tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTABr) was studied using optical spectroscopy methods.

TL;DR: In this article, a dye-in-polymer (DIP) medium for write-once-read-many (WORM) optical discs with fluorescent reading was proposed, which consists of a fluorescent color means, capable of absorbing writing radiation produced by a laser, a compound capable of generating free radicals upon influence of heat produced by the writing radiation and a polymer capable of producing a translucent film enabling high quantum yield of the fluorescence induced in the color means.
Abstract: High sensitive organic dye-in-polymer (DIP) medium for write-once-read-many (WORM) optical discs with fluorescent reading. The medium consists of a fluorescent color means, capable of absorbing writing radiation produced by a laser, a compound capable of generating free radicals upon influence of heat produced by the writing radiation and a polymer capable of producing a translucent film enabling high quantum yield of the fluorescence induced in the color means. The color means can be selected from xanthene dyes of the eosine and rhodamine groups, acridine, oxazine, azine, peylene, violanthrone, cyanine, phtalocyanine, indigoide colors and porphyries. The free radicals generating compound can be chosen from the group of compounds comprising azo and diazoi compounds or peroxyde compounds. The film producing polymer can be selected from the group of compounds comprising cellulose ethers, vinyl resins or acrylic resins.

TL;DR: The easy synthesis of 9-hydroxy-9-(4-carboxyphenyl)xanthene 1 linker for the solid phase peptide synthesis of peptide amides is reported in this article.
Abstract: The easy synthesis of 9-hydroxy-9-(4-carboxyphenyl)xanthene 1 a new linker for the solid phase peptide synthesis of peptide amides is reported. The cleavage conditions were checked and several peptide amides were synthesized using the TentaGel-resin TM on the Milligen 9050 continuous flow peptide synthesizer.

TL;DR: Novel bis-basic esters and amides of xanthene and xanthone of the formula "SPC1" have been proposed by as discussed by the authors, which can be used as pharmaceuticals for preventing or inhibiting a viral infection.
Abstract: Novel bis-basic esters and amides of xanthene and xanthone of the formula ##SPC1## Wherein: Z is oxygen or H2 ; each of R1 and R2 is hydrogen, (lower)-alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 3 to 6 ring carbon atoms, alkenyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms having the vinyl unsaturation in other than the 1-position of the alkenyl group, or each set of R1 and R2 taken together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached is pyrrolidino, piperidino, N-(lower)alkylpiperazino, or morpholino; Each A is alkylene of 2 to about 8 carbon atoms and separates its adjacent Y and amino nitrogen by an alkylene chain of at least 2 carbon atoms; and each Y is oxygen, or >N--R wherein R is hydrogen or (lower)-alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof. These compounds can be used as pharmaceuticals for preventing or inhibiting a viral infection.
