TL;DR: Dihydroosajaxanthone (1), an original synthetic xanthone, is reported herein for the first time as a naturally occurring xanth one, together with three known xanthones: xanthochymone A, 1,3,7-trihydroxy-2-(3-Hydroxy-3-methylbutyl) xanthon (3) and 1, 3,5,6-tetrahydroxyxanthone
Abstract: Garcinia schomburgkiana, locally known in Thailand as an edible fruit "Ma-dan", is a plant species of the Clusiaceae family which has been reported as sources of a variety of compounds with biological activities. In the phytochemical studies of Ma-dan, four xanthones were, for the very first time, isolated from the branch acetone extract of G. schomburgkiana. Their structures were determined through the analysis of spectroscopic data (1H, 13C-NMR, IR and MS) and the comparison with those previously reported. Dihydroosajaxanthone (1), an original synthetic xanthone, is reported herein for the first time as a naturally occurring xanthone, together with three known xanthones: xanthochymone A (2), 1,3,7-trihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl) xanthone (3) and 1,3,5,6-tetrahydroxyxanthone (4). These compounds, especially dihydroosajaxanthone (1), might be considered as chemotaxonomic markers of the Garcinia genus.

TL;DR: The property of the lowest excited triplet states of xanthone in acetonitrile was investigated using time-resolved laser flash photolysis at 355 nm.
Abstract: The property of the lowest excited triplet states of xanthone in acetonitrile was investigated using time-resolved laser flash photolysis at 355 nm The transient absorption spectra and the quenching rate constants (kq) of the excited xanthone with several amines were determined Good correlation between lgkq and the driving force of the reactions suggests the electron transfer mechanism, except aniline and 3-nitroaniline (3-NO2-A) which showed energy transfer mechanism With the appearance of ketyl radical, hydrogen atom transfer also happened between xanthone and dimethyl-p-toluidine, 3,5,N,N-tetramethylaniline, N,N-dimethylaniline, and triethylamine Therefore, both electron transfer and H-atom transfer occured in these systems Great discrepancies of kq values were discovered in H-atom abstraction reactions for alcohols and phenols, which can be explained by different abstraction mechanisms The quenching rate constants between xanthone and alcohols correlate well with the α-C-H bonding energy of alcohols

TL;DR: In this paper, a xanthone glucoside, dillanoside, was isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of a crude drug, Dill (Zira), the fruits of Anethum graveolens L. (Umbelliferae), and it was elucidated as 9, 11-dihydroxy-2-methoxybenzo [a] Xanthone 9 O-β-D-glucoside (I).
