Abstract: Detail chemical studies on Garcinia maingayi have yielded one xanthone, 1,3,7-trihydroxy-2-(3-methylbut-2-enyl)xanthone, one benzophenone, isoxanthochymol, one benzoic acid derivative 3,4-dihydroxy-methylbenzoate and two triterpenoids, stigmasterol and sitosterol. Meanwhile, investigations on Garcinia parvifolia have afforded one triterpenoid, α-amyrin and two xanthones, cowanin and rubraxanthone. Their structures were derived based on spectroscopic evidence, mainly 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. Acetylation reaction was carried out on rubraxanthone to yield triacetate rubraxanthone. It was found that the pure rubraxanthone was strongly active against the larvae of Aedes aegypti with LC50 value of 15.49 μg/mL and HL-60 cell line with an IC50 value of 7.5 μg/mL.

Abstract: The invention relates to preparation methods for xanthone compounds and monocrystals thereof and application of the xanthone compounds and monocrystals thereof as alpha-glucosidase inhibitors The preparation method comprises the steps: firstly, carrying out strain culture on a fungus Penicillium sp (TA33-1), then, carrying out fermentation culture on the fungus, subjecting obtained mycelia to lixiviating for 3 times with a mixed solution of chloroform and methanol (1: 1), carrying out depressurized concentration, and then, carrying out extraction for 3 times with ethyl acetate, so as to obtain a crude extract; and subjecting the ethyl acetate phase crude extract to normal-phase silica-gel column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatography and HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) sequentially, thereby obtaining compounds (1 and 2) represented by a formula I shown in the description The invention provides the application of the xanthone compounds and monocrystals thereof as the alpha-glucosidase inhibitors According to the application, the xanthone compounds and monocrystals thereof serve as the alpha-glucosidase inhibitors by taking the compounds (1 and 2) represented by the formula I or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as the effective ingredients

Abstract: An undescribed xanthone dimer, 1,3,5,8‐tetrahydroxy‐7‐(1′,5′,8′‐trihydroxy‐3′‐methoxy‐2′‐xanthonyl)xanthone (1) was separated together with eleven known compounds (2–12) from the dried whole herb of Swertia pseudochinensis. It was the first time that the compounds 8–12 were isolated from the Swertia genus. The structure of compound 1 was illuminated based on chemical evidence and spectral data analysis (UV, 1D and 2D‐NMR, HR‐ESI‐MS). Moreover, the inhibitory effects of all compounds on NO production in LPS‐induced RAW 264.7 cells were tested, compounds 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 showing significant inhibition. The IC50 value of compound 12 was 3.05±1.10 μM. Using target screening and molecular docking, we hypothesized that compound 12 may bind neutrophil elastase to exert its anti‐inflammatory effects.
